So my husband is moving to his own office in our house, we made room so we each have our own space. I’m finally decking my space out in Alliance themed stuff, I just ordered NZXT’s Alliance case for rebuilding my computer and everything. I want to paint one wall to match, and I’m considering throwing the logo up there in yellow-gold.
Except…I don’t know what exact shade I should be aiming for. Is there a base Alliance blue, or should I just pick one of the multiple hues of bright blue to navy?
The toon you posted on has an alliance blue background. Look at the stormwind tabard in game. Go to Stormwind. Just check out the character creation screen and you should see the tint.
I would use the eyedropper tool in a jpeg image of the Alliance symbol and get the hexcode.
You can actually match the exact colour into a template with the hexcode, in a printing ship, print it, then take it to a Home Depot or Lowe’s to get the exact colour you want.
Umm. If you want, I can explain this better but this is a lot for a simple colour but it’s 100% fool proof.
Royal Blue i’m fairly sure. If we’re going by more modern Alliance flags and banners.
Older ones have a brighter tone.
Honestly, it varies depending on what you’re looking at. Just get something close.
I mean, I know it shows up in multiple places but even in the character background it’s several different shades. I just wasn’t sure if Blizzard had a set color and just used variations from there, like how companies have set codes when presenting their logos so it’s consistent across the board. Maybe that’s not the case for just an in-game symbol.
I’m willing to bet that it’s some form of blue.

He’s going to end up with a crap ton of Warhammer stuff in his room. Not really my thing, but he’s excited to have more space for painting miniatures, so I’m happy.
And I don’t have to worry about his posters messing up my Warcraft aesthetic. Lol.
Maybe bring one of the panels from the computer case into Home Depot or Lowe’s and they can do an exact match to one of the hues on there.
