Is there a disconnect between Blizzard and the community?

Which I might do at some point. But it doesn’t hold my attention past a few clears anymore.

Which I’ve already done, but see above too.

Not interested.

Massively nerfed, as well as being even more of a chore to do now with longer than before times to complete them.

Timegated story content - which I’ve already said I don’t enjoy.

Terrible, boring busy work.

A handful of dailies and a weekly quest isn’t exactly compelling.

Two things they nerfed, and are also not in any way interesting - even with the changes. If I wanted that, I’d go back to XIV where crafting/gathering was actually interesting and compelling.

Virtually all of this was nerfed by Blizzard with the level squish. For anyone who wanted to do it, Shadowlands was a huge failure - and trying to bring up legacy/non-expansion content as a good, “thing to do” is not a good defense of the expansion.

All of what you listed is made significantly worse by the systems that I’m complaining about. It’s not fun to do, especially with how much garbage they throw in your way. Without the timegating and the garbage busywork and systems, I would have been enjoying at the very least the covenant storylines.

They keep making the game grindy… we just want to have fun things to do with other people… the problem is the grindy stuff is so much we have to do so much of it alone to keep up… making the “work” more “play” without so much of it feeling necessary would help a lot.

On your server…
Right.

How many “mass server merges” has it been through?

If so much of the casual community cares about the game, then engage in the end game systems and give feedback. Most will refuse to this this, they do what they’ve been doing for years and have a mentality of “my way or the high way”, but the reality is that these players don’t offer anything to the longevity of the game. Ion and the dev team put an emphasis on making sure players try all type of content, and people enjoy challenging themselves instead of running ICC for the 5000th time trying for the same mount.

I’m as casual as they come and unlike you, I have the courage to post on my main - feel free to armory me - and I find gameplay fun and the rewards meaningful.

p.s. why hide your main?

I know you think that’s probably the height of snide sarcasm but all you did was just validate my point. You’ve been doing what you do in this thread for over 2 years. As an allegedly “valuable poster” your sole contribution to these forums has been the animosity you generate from your behavior.

The only reason you are not the worst MVP is because Palehoof existed and no one could ever be worse than Palehoof.

I should go back to BFA so I can enjoy Shadowlands…?

Sadly people have succumbed to the Sunk Cost Fallacy. They invested too much time and so much of their life or finances into this game so they can’t give it up. Even if they don’t enjoy it. Many are struggling addicts and completionists who are p/o’d there is Mythic Raiding and rewards they can’t achieve because they don’t have the time and/or skill to put in.

Also many players think they deserve Mythic Raid ilvl gear and rewards. They want the game to be like Classic. One difficulty. Everything is achievable.

Blizzard designed this game to be unfinished. How many people ever hold a 100% completion on transmog, achievements, etc.? Literally enough to count on your hands. The grievances of people who can’t deal with a game that is designed as a carrot on the stick are troubling to witness.

You adding false layers of difficulty to everything you can do in game doesn’t = more to do.

HARDCORE material farming? Seriously?

You left off hardcore RP’ing too, it seems.

What should I do to change that?

Careful, all the hate trolls are watching this post. They’re ready to pounce on anyone that doesn’t mindlessly agree with them and their echo chamber of hate.

I hunted down recruiters at Blizzcon, I wanted to work for the company so bad it hurt, for no other reason than they need people with fresh ideas and some real direction. (they had just laid ppl off, no dice) I want their games to be hugely financially successful b/c they will keep making them.

This expac is not the way. The sub #'s are going to crater.

Yes.

Our goal is to have fun and get loots.

Their goal is take as much money as possible from us and keep us busy constantly doing chores.

If I just said gathering mats, there are generally players who only do that and players who will complain of how un-accessible the high end of recipes and fully crafting everything is, hence tiers. I watch streamers who do nothing but farm and there are those who enjoy doing this hardcore.

The multi-boxxer community is real. O.O

Then there are casual players in terms of gathering. They do it in off time.

There literally is a level of dedication in these things. It’s not arbitrary. These communities aren’t unicorns.

Who is to say they aren’t? Also the fact Blizzard truly believes the covenant system was successful just shows there is a massive disconnect between the playerbase and the developers.

It’s not fun to have to pick power over personal preference and what would be more engaging to the individual.

How is what you’re doing any different?

What???

Sorry guy, I understand the sentiment because there are plenty of people who don’t want to try to get better, but you just blanket called people saying they are casual as being lazy.

Your statement about playing and not complaining isn’t wrong, but the way you phrase a lot of stuff comes off so badly man…

The absolute irony. Good one father of 3!

If they do, there is no saving the game then.
They did everything in their power to change the game to fit what the community asked for, and now a new community has erupted stating it wasn’t what THEY asked for.

Its just a battle you can not win with all this.

If you don’t want to participate in the content, then you shouldn’t have an opinion on it.

People who do LFR are participating in the content. What’s your point?

Except the community didn’t ask for this. Nobody asked for more borrowed power, more time gates, more busy work, more obstacles thrown in their path.
