Is the sub count really as bad as people say?

No one knows except Blizzard. All we have is speculation.

And it doesn’t matter to them so long as box and store sales remain strong and cross game/cross platform “play time” statistics remain high.

It matters to the consumer getting more cash only content and less compelling inclusive content (ex, WQ being rehashed leveling quests).

LOL

As I thought.

Sure thing coward.

id say so a few million left and it mite be lower if the next expansion is as bad as bfa is.

Nowadays yeah that’s the only thing they talk about. Personally I think it’s sad too because in my opinion it falls into the “well you bought the product” mindset that companies have been adopting lately. It’s to a much less extreme with BFA but it’s still there imo.

EQ subs have increased since 2015.

It depends on who you’re talking to and what claim they are making, OP.

Most people look at their friends list and their guild roster and make the informed assumption that there are fewer subscribers than during Legion. Others do more research to come up with a basis for their educated guesses.

I’ve also heard claims that there are 10 million subscribers currently, clearly based on wishful thinking.

If someone approaches the issue from the position that “we can’t know because Blizzard doesn’t release sub numbers anymore, therefore whatever I say is true and you have to accept it”, that is about the most wrong anyone can be.

And
no matter how much money they make in the shop, they’d have made more if there were many more subscribers.

Every subscriber lost is profit lost to them.

Who are these “people” and how are they getting the sub count numbers?

“People say crime has no effect on people unaffected by crime.”

I have not logged on in past week or so, so i can not tell you how game population feels, also have trouble telling you how game play feels beyond level 20.

When i was last playing there did appear to be alot of people around, had one player leap frog past me and kill a rare i was working towards, so CRZ and sharding helps keep game populated.

I am pretty sure the time i do spend in game will help wow get the MAU metrics they seek, even if no sub is active.

So by playing wow i help add to the pool of active players and everything must be going fantastic, blizzard keep up the great work.

ALL HAIL THE GREATEST WORLD OF WARCRAFT AUGUST 2018 EXPANSION EVER!

BFA!

BFA, HURRAY!

There was a blue on this a while back. I think it was between 1 person and 7 billion if I’m not mistaken. It was their guess though not true numbers.

Eternal life support might as well be death.

No, Blizzards never needed to post sub numbers. But they did’ back when those number were 10-12 million+

And i gurantee you if they were still 10-12 million + we’d be hearing about it

Nope cuz that would mean no one is actively playing.
