It feels very generic to me.
That we still have to go through Torghost is enough of a turn off for me not to get seriously invested.
At this point Torghost is just a monument to the devs constant failures.

Yet here you are, with another transmog set gear, meaning you are still playing WoW even when you say otherwise
Nah I just logged in during my final 20 days to change to the store transmog to make it seem ironic I say these things.
But really, wow is in a bad spot. play ffxiv
Please do not promote rival games on WoW forums.
did you know that ffxiv has a huge free trial, spanning all of a realm reborn through the critically acclaimed heavensward expansion with no impacts on gametime or play?
The game is good, the new expansion brings a lot of good ideas with it, but some of those ideas are executed poorly and still need to be improved upon which is taking a while for Blizz to do. Still worth playing.
I don’t give a damn about that because I have all the expacs purchased on FF 14 and in fact have a lvl 53 character having finished everything in ARR.
So let’s get back to the original point: Please do not promote rival games on WoW forums.
wow needs competition, else it will keep making the terrible decisions it has.
WoW needs competition. I agree with that. But do not deliberately add fuel to the fire.
Honestly, if you like PvE-Focused MMORPGs and want something that feels like it rewards you for playing better and participating in more challenging content – Yeah, WoW is still king and probably always will be. It also has arguably the best RP Community in “popular” games, if that’s a thing you care about.
If you like PvE-Focused MMORPGs and consider yourself to be very casual, in that you wouldn’t mind floating around just doing World Content and LFD/LFR-level content… it’d very much be up for debate if WoW is worth playing. I think for those players, I might actually recommend the MMO that shall not be named, despite my own preferences that prevent me from enjoying it long-term.
Honestly, i never understand the mentality of people asking other people about the decisions they are uncertain of. I cant choose my own direction…then ill see if somebody can talk me into it? Be for real.
Make your own decision and dont rely on other peoples opinions…and thats all they are stating are opinions…and make your own choice if you want to play or not. The only way to know is to just hop in and try it out. You seem to already have a fair amount of seat time in the game…so i think you very well know if youre going to like it or not.
Theres a lot of negativity and toxicity on this forum right now. This is not a good time to be asking about the general popularity status of this game. Dont let those that love to bring dread to everything sway you into not making your own choices.
Play or dont play, its that simple.
Those people are trolling tho.
Slands is meh, but it’s way better than BFA.
the system design has a changed a ton since the old days with a MUCH larger focus on ‘chores per week’, timers, and directly rewarding /timeplayed
I am enjoying this patch
absolutely. game’s awesome. ignore the forum whiners.
QFT.
I enjoyed BfA, despite the parts I didn’t like. I had fun the entire expansion. I took a break between 9.0 & 9.1 for about two months, and I came back for 9.1 launch reinvigorated and am having a great time.
Too much of any good thing makes it sour, and breaks are good things.
That said, I love Shadowlands. I honestly don’t understand the hysteria surrounding all the GD negativity. 9.1 has been fun and so full of stuff to do that I really can’t comprehend the people saying it’s got too little content.
I’m enjoying it. Every player’s mileage will vary.
I think people here express discontent at the start of expansions the most. And you can’t blame them because it’s a barebone game at that time. Then as time goes by and the story unfolds and systems are fully exploited people start to see the big picture and they have a better understanding, a better judgment of an expansion. But truth is there are so many ways to enjoy this game that it comes down to personal opinion because you can’t expect to be playing the same way as anyone.
The only thing about SL that’s better than BfA is the lack of GCD.
People were also much more optimistic in BfA that the game would improve (which affects your enjoyment of the current content) and the template game design was 2 years less stagnant.
This. The content is actually rewarding and interesting.
Classes get more complex and fun instead of less complex.
They’re expanding the game instead of keeping you on a borrowed power treadmill.
Even if it’s not FF14, just play something else right now.
Uh oh! Looks like Mr. Grumpypants has a case of the sour grapes.
You know, posts like this showcase your insecurity. Just making sure you understand that.
