I’m advocating they work a job that’s not a freebie given to them by the lineage.
I have.
Only ones I know of are being given freebies because they can’t get work elsewhere.

You’re not the main character. Your experience or what you’re aware of does not mean that’s happening everywhere.
I know the personal journeys as described by many large streamers. This is how most of them describe the process. The work is the overlay development, getting on a schedule, channel promotion, interacting with the people who come. Those are the keys to building a channel. You wanna make money, that’s what ya gotta do. You aren’t streaming the game, you are streaming your ability to be a pillar of a community.
My ‘job’, lol, is ad money.
Im making $$$ typing this post.
I was in adsense when it was first introduced. In the first year one single website was making a couple hundred a month.
I do build websites for $$$ for people who dont irritate me and I maintain their sites and forums for them if they want. But most of what I earn is thru ads while I sit here and laze around all day, lol.
Ive seen the work streamers put into video editing and that’ll be a hard pass, thanks. lol. Im taking the lazy way out. Put up 100 websites with interesting content, throw a few ads in there (that arent obnoxious lol) sit back and wait for the direct deposits.
Thankfully adsense isnt the only game in town these days.
So the weatherman warning you of the Tornado or Flash flood who went to school for 4+ years to learn how to read radar and predict weather is just a hobby.
You have a really freaking weird outlook on life.
You’re not advocating for anything except free labor at this point.
A “Real Job” is anything that makes you a substantial amount of money. Not necessarily a livable wage, of course, because those are so very rare these days.
I’d also like to add there’s a lot of people out there that cannot get a “regular” job outside of their home. People who are immuno-compromised, people who have physical disabilities, people who have to care for people with disabilities. A pension or welfare check doesn’t always provide for everything you need and so there’s a few people in those communities who look to streaming to provide an extra income so that they can live a better quality of life. Disabled people and people with chronic illnesses deserve to have the means to pay for their bills and get themselves nice things from time to time also.
Then that’s the same for your argument, thank you.
Note the ’ ’ at the end of each one. Yes, not even your mind considers it a job.
If they’re doing it on Television? Yes.
No I’m not. I’m saying those are not ‘jobs’.
Mhmm, opinion duly noted and discarded, have a great day.
Yes you are. You said that parents who employ their kids shouldn’t pay them even if they’re doing labor. You absolutely advocated for free labor.
Actually, reading through this thread, it’s funny how many people are riding the Work Cult mindset to their graves. If you get paid, it’s a job - regardless of what you do. A simple fact that cannot be refuted.
Nope. lmao.
But to be fair, when I worked for the man I put in 70 hour weeks quite frequently for years.
I rarely ever had a whole two day weekend from 1985 forward.
So from my perspective, if Im getting 6 hours of sleep a night, its a been a dog dangling day. lol
except I never brought personal thoughts into this, you did.
This just boils down to you not willing to acknowledge streaming takes alot of effort and work to get to the point of making a real living as a real job.
You’re dismissing people’s hard work and think streaming is just charity freebie.
That’s nice, I think it’s time to use a certain forum function if you want to post that way at me.
Nope, saying they should go get a job not freely given by their lineage.
Yeah you did. Your first post.
It doesn’t. It is charity.
And majority of the streamers (except for those weird ones who went viral for a minute) only encourage you to subscribe. Nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to pay or lying about what they do. It’s right there on your screen and you can see what they’re doing to earn that money. People decide to pay for it? Great. They don’t? Cool. You can still enjoy my content regardless, you know?
When the system is designed in such a way where you have a lot of applicants and so little jobs, of course some parents might employ their kids. This isn’t just for “rich” families either. This is for smaller businesses too. Things like gardening and lawn work, small cafés, farms in local towns that are rural, etc etc. So saying “they should go get a job” is so grossly misinformed. I’m looking for jobs in Australia and live rural and I can tell you, the job market is messed up.
You’re talking to a person who thinks your local weatherman is just a hobby.
eh…
A guy I did a lot of freelance work for out of school was in the field I started out in.
His father was in real estate. Made oodles of money, but the son had worked his way thru college…wanted to be a self made man, I guess.
He did ok. But eventually he realized daddies business just offered a lot more money than what we were doing at the time, so he sold his business and partnered with his dad.
I dont see anything wrong with generational wealth.
bad brain is bad.
Yep very sad and pathetic.
