I’m playing Cata prepatch and this, but I’m only farming honor and Blood Moon, no raiding at all.
I’m just doing 50-60k a week for SoD, 110k is too much for me.
I had some unhinged person explode on me because I wasn’t no lifing SoD. I’m just like bro, there are about to be 5 different versions of WoW, I will be playing 3, Retail, SoD and Panda Time. Chill out on the sweatiness, derive importance from something else in life.
I’m glad this is being talked about more with MMO community. They do the most insane things to speed run content then wonder why they’re bored.
I just got my priest to rank 7 and now working on my mage, and that’s more than enough to keep me busy until next phase.
I mean people literally save up 25 red quests to turn in right away each phase and get to max level in 8 hours and wonder why there’s nothing to do
And most the time when people say this there is plenty to do
These people mean to say…
They are PvE BiSd?
PvP BisD and Rank 7?
Every rune for your class?
Collected enough wild offerings to buy relevant items?
Exalted with all relevant factions?
Exalted with all future relevant factions (ie argent dawn)?
Finished all green/yellow quests?
Finished and saved 25 red quests?
Maxed out 2 professions?
Saved 1,000 Gold for 60 mount?
The majority of people whining that there’s nothing to, spammed incursions until their eyes bled, completed raid first day and said “Omg there’s nothing left to do!”
SoD is losing population because the only end game pve available is raidlogging and the class changes have created a balance nightmare which causes pvp to be frustrating and sometimes unfun.
It’s not a dead or dying game though and will maintain enough population for players to enjoy it but I think they are gonna end up merging more servers for sure.
yep pretty dead.
Nothing to do besides bot simulator incursions, WO runs and then? Incompetent dev team sharting all over pvp players with imblance and knee jerk blanket nerfs…raiding is a complete joke.
Cata is better despite being a buggy mess. Better raids, better PvP, better class design.
SoD conceptually was amazing, but it needs its own dedicated team. The runes were all overtuned and made terrible gameplay, PvP was bad, raids were over designed for vanilla, SoD basically is living off the strength of Era.
It’s been not even half baked the whole time. The concept is interesting but the execution has been terrible. Due to this it had huge interest at first and has largely dropped off.
The question is have they actually learnt their lessons and will they do better in the future? I doubt it and even if they do, they might have burnt too many players already.
60 will get a big resurgence of players, they really need to do this right or they’re done and SoD will just go into lowest priority position for resources allocation.
The big issue with this is that the Developers seem to have adusted their release shedule based on those people.
For me, SOD, Classic or Retail is having too much content too fast and I am constantly running against windmills.
Ofc. I do really play a lot less than 20 years ago, but each time I start an advanture at WOW, I am told “it´s over” half way through.
My issue with Blizz right now is mostly that they don´t give me enough time to experience their games, which is why I don´t even try some of them anymore.
I always wanted to play OW2, always wanted to do a season in D2R or D4, play some hearthstone…
But each time I start something, I am completely under pressure to finish it in time or only see half of it.
WOTLK I stopped after a few months, just like TBC. It all went so fast, even at Classic Era, people were already at BWL when I did not even hit 60 with my first char and when I started raiding, Era came to an end.
Cata I will not even step foot in, I know I won´t be able to experience it just like SOD, that is rushing through phases lately as if they shut down servers in August or something.
I agree,
when the final phase happens, many will come back for the 60 raid experience, but once they are done, they will leave again. This was a huge deal with Era and why it ended so quickly and TBC came.
As I said before, the speed that some folks consume content is hillarious.
I’m more or less done with p3. I’m doing BFA daily on my alts to get exalted and that’s it. ST is a boring raid with too much trash and mediocre loot. Just waiting for p4 at this point. My alts will all have exalted by next week. After that I’ll probably unsub until p4 comes out.
8 week release cycles with a barrage of new raids. New adventuring content in the world with new runes. New class narratives.
The only mid aspect has been the state of traditional PvP. Phase 1 meta had problems and phase 2 & 3 only “saved” by blood moon, which does nothing for those who want organized horde vs alliance PvP.
