SR is pretty awful. Why didnt they just bring back TB or a slightly reworked Strand.
Unfortunately…yes it is a battleground.
I don’t love it… but I’ve definitely stopped hating it.
I’ve had a few games (I think I have <30 matches so far) where every fight feels like a loss, then we shift the objectives and in a span of 5 minutes turn in a boss kill.
If the enemy team starts coasting, wastes their ultra spawn, gives the spawn away, rotates to defend bastions instead of killing ultras, suddenly you have a threat on the boss.
Its a shame more fights don’t occur between the gates. Like when the ultra camps spawn ideally both sets are killed that part of the map. Then you’re left with the path between the two gates, ofc since revives can fly that means you need people sitting back to defend, but if one team starts to push the path too hard, you can have 5-10 players delay 20 (not kill) and then use the rest of your team to fly and cap the bases while the enemy is stuck grounded. It gets very disorienting when the team who is living is stuck on one side of the map with the majority of their players, and the other one is ready to swoop in and recap if they do the long run.
I don’t mind it either. It doesn’t drag on forever.
On an unrelated note, for those with the Dark phoenix mount, can you fly in Slayer’s Rise without going through the portal? or was I just too tired and imagining things? I’ll try to test it more later.
Poor design lands new players in a mess of objectives they rarely seem to get or ever bother to learn - which creates matches of mindless zergs counter-productively running around and fighting on roads or at pointless nodes.
Horrible thing to queue into with pugs, but can produce some close matches when a couple of dirty syncing communities know what they’re doing (mostly cap and hold bastions, tusk and sparring) and go head to head.
I am not sure why this is a brawl still and not in the Epic BG category.
