I have always thought of Rogue as the “pvp class”. I have played Druid for years now, so Feral is the closest that I have really gotten to it.
So, is it fun to play in PvE? Does stealth feel more like an asset or does it get in the way? I questioned if it would be boring having to stealth up to enemy npcs constantly. Not to mention, the lack of healing.
It’s literally better than feral in every conceivable way, to the point that I feel feral needs a massive buff. We have crimson vial for self healing, cloak of shadows to soak mechanics other classes need to avoid, vanish to reset encounters whenever we are losing, etc.
Plus stealthing past trash to kill your WQ target is still a thing. Rogues win PvP and PvE until Ferals get buffed.

I think playing a stealth class is fun for pve because it gives you another perspective. You no longer have murder your way through everything and can stealth/stun/sap your way to the objective while picking and choosing who to fight.

I have been playing Combat (er… Outlaw) on this character and another max rogue on Horde side and it is incredibly fun. I love the range, the rhythm, and the vast tool kit. Yes, pvp rogue is fun, but so it pve. very much recommend to play a rogue now. Bank that cat!

Outlaw is fun, if it’s an alt.
I’ve always had fun. I’m an Assassin spec and I have a Combat spec on the Alliance side, both PvE and both fun
Stealthing past mobs is awesome. Using CC for a difficult pull is satisfying. Being on a long boss fight is boring though.

The great thing about a raid encounter on a rogue is gaming when to use your assets at the right time (or at least a decent time) and its pretty satisfying to come out on top. Our mobility and survivability play to both switching to adds across the room or getting out of a bad spot.
And others have rightfully mentioned Cloak of Shadows because its fantastic, but Feint (reduces aoe damage by a few seconds) is also real useful and then in dungeons you can throw ‘tricks of the trade’ on the tank and go completely crazy on packs of trash out of the gate, knowing threat won’t come back to haunt you.
And in case it does later on, on new trash before ToT comes off cd, for example? And a mob or two takes particular interest in you? /vanish* and it never happened! Your threat table is squeaky-clean and you can start attacking safely again.
Its definitely worth trying out if you’ve never looked into it
I started a rogue back in Lich King (mage main and disc alt) and once I got max level I had a BLAST in ICC. Combat was so much fun and the damage was amazing. It was still a fun class up till Legion when they completely removed combat. Outlaw was boring as hell and unreliable due to RNG. I never liked the other specs.
Soooooooo I dropped the class. Thanks Blizzard for making a fun class crap. slow clap
Nah it’s no big deal, you’ll habitually be in stealth after you play a while and it’s not like the old days when you move -20mph AND you could always go sub and shaddy step

Whacking mobs on the head and nicking their stuff never gets old.
