This I agree with. As someone who is fine with pathfinder for current content it absolutely should be removed in WoD and Legion now that they’re obsolete.
They have quest tracking for every zone visibly available from the quest log screen. Since they INSIST that players don’t have flying from the get-go in order to inflate their played time metrics or whatever nonsensical reason they give these days, flying should be unlocked once you’ve completed all the storyline quests in the new launch zones.
@dotzy
There’s nothing fun or worthwhile that I can obtain from World Quests though. To me it’s useless content. The actual world quests aren’t engaging or even remotely challenging. It’s basically just fodder content.
Having to wait for daily unlocks (not to mention forcing myself to log-in every day so I don’t waste days) , is not what I call fun.
I’d rather login and play the game how I enjoy it. (Which is what I will do – and as a result I won’t get to fly).
This I could get behind. Something that has clear linear goals that are not time-gated.
And yeah anyone who thinks that this isn’t to inflate their time-played metrics is deluding themselves.
There is no way you can come up with the perfect questline.
There will always be a group of people that will dislike the way flying is implemented.
Pathfinder is not inherently flawed because you don’t like it. Creating a new quest line others will dislike doesn’t make the new option suddenly better.
You aren’t advocating for a “better” system. Just a system you will personally like more, even if others won’t.
Pathfinder is nothing but a mechanic to force players to do everything whether they enjoy it or not AND to delay flight so content can be skimpier.
It is not more immersive.
It is not popular, just required.
I feel like Pathfinder is emblematic of the new WoW: It is to save the company money, not to make the game more fun.
Are you saying you WILL be exalted? Or are exalted NOW?
Why can’t they have multiple methods of unlocking flying? It sounds like you’re looking for a reason to say NO instead of looking for a solution to say YES you’re right.
Have two versions of pathfinder:
PVE Version (existing)
PVP Version (new)
But still…
Why do we need pathfinder? Why can’t flying just unlock for everyone in 8.1 or 8.2? Make it cost a bit of gold? Who cares?
The majority of the playerbase will have extensively explored kul tiras / zandalar by 8.1 / 8.2 , do we really need a convoluted process for players to unlock flying?
Well that’s your prerogative, you’re free to do whatever you want. WQs are just dailies, which have been in the game forever and aren’t going anywhere. I personally find them to be a massive upgrade over the old system of just going to a daily hub. They make use of the entire expansion map and not just little hubs.
Exalted is not required. Only revered.
Why should I be forced to grind gold, and do something I don’t enjoy for flight?
Max level and allow flight.
Design content with flight in mind would also be a plus.
I guess I worded it badly. I meant to say I am already exalted and 8.2 hasn’t even hit yet.
@Dotzy
You’re basically saying that “I enjoy this content, and you should too” – which is a bit biased and not really looking towards a solution.
Are you going to lose sleep over a PVP Version of Pathfinder?
I swear some people finish Pathfinder and they are all the more vindictive for it. As if they want to make sure everyone else has to go through the suckage that they did (instead of saying “Hey, this really sucks why can’t it be changed?”)
I do my best to get on that so I don’t have to worry about sure it annoying but As soon I Get it done feel like, I got every worth of effort in what this game have to offer, Better then trial and error try to do some thing but screwing up and lost bit of armor and money.
@Akston
Have two options:
- Pathfinder Achiev - unlock on acct
- Gold - unlock per character
Multiple ways to unlock for those who don’t believe in farming gold.
Happy? (Probably not, I have a feeling you’re just trolling at this point)
No what I’ve been saying this entire time is that getting exalted with reps is in no way punishing.
I mean, that’s your opinion man
This. Thats also why they should gate each rep behind different things. Wqs, ies, dungeons, warfronts, bgs, maybe one for treasure hunting. Everyone would have reps they liked grinding and one they didnt. Pathfinders whole purpose is to get you to experience the game. So why not make it so it gets you to experience all parts of the game instead of just world quests?
na, 4 out of 5 of those are PVE.
Better have Arenas added in there too. 150 wins in rated arena or bust
Might want the Battlegrounds one to be for Rated BGs as well – to increase participation since it has been down lately.
50 RBG Wins and 150 Arena Wins would be good for 2 of them. Maybe one for World PVP as well?
I could get behind this. I’m sure most of you couldn’t though which is why I think the whole “Pathfinder Idea” is stupid and flying should just be made available.
Let’s check your math.
From neutral to Exalted requires 3,000 (N-> F) + 6,000 (F -> H) + 12,000 (H -> R) + 21,000 (R -> E)
That’s 42,000 per faction from neutral to exalted.
There are 6 factions. That’s 252,000 total rep.
World quests do not appear until you hit 120. And are already friendly. Assuming your hit 120 on night one, (and your profile is hidden, imagine that), that means at 2,000 rep each, you have done every Emissary for 126 days straight.
Given that BFA released August 14, 2018, and it’s now January 2nd, well…you’ve been quite the busy beaver.
All of that aside? That’s not the point of this thread.
