Is normal raiding easier than LFR

All I know is what I have experienced firsthand, and that can be corroborated by dozens of others here if you don’t believe me.

Yes, LFR is considerably easier, but you still see tons more wipes than you do in the typical Normal group.

In Shadowlands, Heroic raiding is where you start to see the more complex mechanics requiring more coordination. LFR is closer to Normal than Heroic is, in terms of mechanics. You would know this if you were actually doing LFR.

it’s because the playerbase doing lfr the degrade so much it’s laughable. It’s nothing to do w/ the difficulty of the encounters. If anything blizzard has been making lfr encounter easier and easier as time goes by simply because the crowd doing it is getting dumber and dumber. If you compare lfr when it release to how it is now you can have 1 person wipe the whole raid because of a failed mechanics which doesn’t exist nowadays.

TLDR: stop being dumb and you’ll easily clear lfr

Earlier this week, I was doing LFR on my priest for chance at the anduin ring. Had a ret pally literally AFK, and put me on follow for a boss.

Difficulty has two aspects: the complexity of mechanics as well as the numerical tuning.

Some mechanics can be ignored in LFR because they are tuned to do negligible damage, but other mechanics like the Fatescribe runes will wipe an LFR team because they are designed to be raid wipers.

The main difference between LFR and Normal is tuning. Heroic is when the mechanics become more complex, and only certain players can do the Fatescribe runes, etc.

So you’re telling me it’s hard to walk into a rune and drag it to the other side :person_facepalming:

EDIT: it’s a good thing you’re in classic then

I never said it was hard for me.

But plenty of LFR groups wipe to it because players have no idea how to do it, no one bothers to do it because they are tunneling adds, or one or two people do it correctly but one other person suddenly comes along and puts a rune out of alignment at the last minute.

You jump at any chance to insult me even though you clearly have no idea what kind of player I am.

you’re statements says it all.

Clearly I know about the runes mechanic but I am dumb because I observe why LFR teams fail?

Your statements say a lot about your (lack of) observational skills.

clearly you do and you also think it’s a hard mechanics. So case and point…

I never said it was hard for me. You just can’t wait to point your finger at me for being dumb or bad, can you?

You can’t deny that if LFR teams are wiping consistently to it, perhaps that mechanic is not appropriate for LFR. Most LFR players don’t research mechanics beforehand or take much personal responsibility for mechanics. So when I say LFR is hard, I mean for the target audience or compared to LFR in past expacs, not for me personally.

But enough of being trolled by you. I got my slime cat mount, and don’t need your validation of my skills. Hope you get over whatever insecurity you have that is driving you to be a bully.

Without reading other replies, my assumptions would be that it is. But only because those that do normal raiding did LFR first. Not only will they know the mechanics, but are generally more focused and serious-minded about doing normal.

This would be false, since normal mode is available before LFR.

You’re right. It does.

Normal raiding is easier than LFR because there is a raid leader in normal raiding telling people what to do. LFR has no provision for a raid leader, and its target audience is players who are not ready for raiding.

That’s why people generally find a way to die before afking.

I certainly do not think half the raid fell off the bridges in P2 Sylv on accident.

idk what lfr groups you join but i did some last couple weeks and had absolutely no problems maybe you should do them on tuesdays like i do why i do them who knows guess boredom.

LFR is objectively easier. The fact that people are either ignorant or unskilled has nothing to do with the difficulty of the actual content.

Saying LFR is harder is a disingenuous stance to undermine higher difficulties and to claim that the content they do is difficult.

Its just G&D. lol small portion of the crowd. It depends on your Q times and your luck but sometimes it can be frustrating.

LFR is almost always a pretty smooth run for me

full pug

barely ever see afk’ers

barely ever see peeps killing themselves on purpose

the anecdotes are just that, LFR is usually pretty good except for a boss or two at the start of a new content patch

LFR barely ever falls apart

normal and heroic I see groups fall apart a ton more often, normal and heroic I see peeps trying to phone it in a ton, normal and heroic I see peeps being toxic way more often
