It’s a story-driven game (whether or not you feel the story is good is another matter), so “bringing back the war” would necessarily require a reason to occur.
Thrall, Baine, Jaina, and Anduin are all best buds. The Horde is broken and no longer has a warchief. Sylvanas is gone. Gallywix is gone. Garrosh is not only dead but completely erased from even the afterlife. Greymane retired, Tyrande stepped away, Alleria and Moira are happily working with the Horde.
The Zandalari and Night Elves are the only races who have ongoing grievances to bear against the opposite faction, and it appears Blizzard has “resolved” the burning of Teldrassil. So we are left with Talanji having a desire to avenge her father, which will never happen.
So, narratively, how exactly is the war supposed to flare back up in a remotely realistic manner?
He is acting as a poor king but he left someone else in charge. Anduin is basically on sabbatical. Turalyon is still Regent Lord of Stormwind.

I assume that’s where it works best unless new characters can be created like Garrosh. 
I’m still curious how Thrall recruited the defenders from the Dazar’alor raid to fight alongside Jania.
I am pretty sure those wanting factions wars back would be the first to complain with how the devs are treating their faction.

It happens eventually in real life too. Those you’ve conquered just fall in line.
It be nice if while there Turalyon starts a crusade.
to a start a friendly reclamation of lands. We can ask nicely, once to please leave. That be friendly.

Why do people think the only war that counts is faction war? Just because we arent doing orcs vs humans for the billionth time doesnt mean we arent in a war. Do you look at the Third War, with orcs and humans and night elves teaming up against the Legion and say ‘this is world of friendship 
’?

I never get tired of running delves and dungeons, making friends with all the mobs. Then there’s befriending all the world bosses. The fun never ends.

If done right it be no issues. BFA failed at this. Hard. there was more faction war in the first hour of MOP than the entire BFA story.
Hey sergeant…I came here to kill horde. where are they? so far I’ve killed witches, void thralls and blood trolls. and the blood trolls who are at “war” with the horde too. Just me…I’d let them kill horde and we wipe up who lives.

Even in warhammer (fantasy and 40K), the “good guys” lose. Sometimes orks take a world and cna’t be kicked off it in 40k.
and in adaddon’s 13th crusade…13th time was a charm. Cadia the actual planet broke before its people did! Bad guys won. for now. Now the good guys do the comeback fighting.
each side gets major leaders who are actually equals.
Super jaina crap needs to end. Up comes the horde mage who can go toe to with toe with her if not put her down. Not a stretch there…the horde has several races that live 1000’s of years. they’ve read a few magic books.

BFA nuked two cities, had Warfronts of faction wars and faction invasions all over, and the reason we go seek allies is to continue the war as they are pushed to the factions and help them in the war.
I think it has far more war than MOP or any other WoW expansion.
this is why I wished they expanded more on the rogue order hall.
We had a nice little community there. All sides at the end of the day…it was jsut business. And our business is…murder.
No politics. its all crap. you tell me some dude is the bad guy. that dude will tell they are the good guy.
contract up for say 5000 gold? all that matters.
