Is it too late to start from fresh on the ann severs?
Nah, tbc raids are typically repeated so all you would need is a guild willing to take you.
if you plan on tanking , ya the spots are probably already taken and your options to gear quickly enough to get in any of the later raids are about nothing.
dps it depends on the class where some classes have an easier time.
healing you could manage to get the crafted healing gear and be just fine for current content.
If you plan on playing sweaty and super competitively yeah, still plenty of time for casual players though.
Iâm just wondering if WOTLK is going to come to ann also, i know there are boostâs but i hate myself and enjoy questing in WoW.
level a boomkin/ele/shadow priest most guilds will take you
No people quit and thereâs raids doing all content. They have a dungeon system coming up next phase thatâs more than likely going to be a catch up mechanic. The only time itâs too late imo is when ZA phase is half way done
Iâm going to be honest with you here:
Leveling to 70 is pretty easy though outlands depending on if you play on Nightslayer has a bunch of people that just grief levelers all the time plus bots are a huge problem on both the PvP and PvE server.
The skill level of players this time around has dropped pretty heavily and this also makes doing heroics with pugs much harder, also getting people for heroics is a major pain unless you play a tank and so you could end up being in LFG for 1 or more hours looking for a tank that is not forcing you to pay them.
Farming gold is also not fun unless you play a Prot Pala or a Rogue (Pala can farm strath an rogue can do steamvault runs with mining + engineering) but open world farming is probably the worst it has ever been due to the overwhelming bots and gold sellers that are everywhere and prices of things are in the dirt such as Primals.
If you can manage to get into a guild that can run you through Kara and other old raids for gear then gearing is not as bad but without a guild helping you then itâs extremely painful and even moreso depending on class/spec, for example Enhance Shamans want their game bis totem from first boss MT heroic and that boss can clap even higher geared tanks if they donât have shadow resist, or if the healer is just bad or if DPS kill themselves on the shadow reflect, but itâs also hard finding 4 people that want to even do that entire dungeon and even worse if you just want first boss only (seriously doing this without a guild or a tank friend is miserable.)
Some items also are hard to get like Eye trinket from slave pens or Abacus from Mech normal just because people tend to hard reserve items or you deal with people ninjaing when theyâre not playing a spec in the dungeon where those items benefit them (for example a healer need rolling on Eye trinket) and if you hard reserve the trinket and form the group yourself if you have ensure players are somewhat half decent and again sitting in LFG for hours for a tank for 1 dungeon run is awful.
Raids however are extremely faceroll especially now with the nerfs so itâs easy for any âokayâ guild to full clear.
PvP gearing is decent now that honor is actually easy to get however the problem comes down to BG marks being very annoying as some BGs just do not pop or maybe you get 4 games a week and you end up suffering trying to get whatever item that requires said mark.
Also depending on class/spec consumes are extremely pricey (for example STR/Agi scrolls and haste pots ect.)
In my opinion TBC is very un alt friendly and being new can either be really challenging for extremely easy if you have people that can help you.
It really depends on what you want to do and how much you can play. If youâre going to start a level 1 toon and grind to 70 for a few months but you want to raid and see a lot of the content that may be tough. That being said, restrictions will ease over the expansion (attunements removed and a catch up raid is coming) so you might be able to slot into a guild and get into it well enough. Groups will always be around, but not really going to get to prog every raid as intended (pre/post nerf aside people doing T4/T5 content in T6 gear will make it even easier).
If you got a level 60 youâre dusting off and can join a guild to help with attunements itâs a different story. Or if you just want to casually play and do the easy raids and some dungeons youâll be fine.
TBC definitely has a double edged sword design where after you hit max level and get raid attuned thereâs not a lot of reason to play unless you have certain things you like to do; alts, pvp, gather/craft, etc. Itâs great for raid loggers, but causes a lot of issues for new/returning players to do some of the group content, which a lot of is required to do raids.
Itâs funny how mixed the answers are. It is not now, and has never been too late to start any version of the game, including Classic Era, Era Hardcore, SoD, MoP, obviously Retail, and of course Anniversary.

According to what you see on this board, and as well as how it is in game, you can always join as a dps considering most dpsâers are pathetic. However, you will have an easier time getting raid spots as a shaman or a warlock (lots of guilds are very bad and thus need a lot of shamans per raid).
You can also get spots as a healer and what not, but probably not as a tank.
Definitely not, you can literally pick any class/role you like and youâll be able to find a guild / pug
People ask this question on reddit every, single day. Weâre only in phase 2 out of 5. No, itâs not too late.
Donât listen to the naysayers on this forum, âfunâ is subjective and theyâre in love with their own misery. Guilds will continue to recruit like mad all the way til Sunwell because people randomly quit.
Dreamscythe Horde is fun leveling, lots of people leveling alts so low-level dungeons are popping. Alliance is even more populated on DS, so I assume itâs the same on that side.
