You make it sound like a bad thing but its not. Plenty still que up with players then the npcs in ffxiv, would say the majority. I only take npcs once first time and then maybe farming for glamour if rarely. Otherwise real players. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, FFXIV feels more alive as a community because players = speed runs still wall to wall. And new players don’t get bullied like they would in wow.
When I was new, I got lost in wailing caverns. No one offered to help or see if I was lost. They assumed I went afk and kicked me without a second thought. In Legion, I decided to tank for the first time. I was kicked when I accidentally reset neltharion by being knocked back into lava. No warning, not even 10 seconds to ask what to do. Just kicked in a flash. WoW is BRUTAL to new players/players learning new specs. Trusts are a must have here.
