Sadly it was finished before it ever began.
Ya fair enough. But atm there is no close #2.
Define no close #2.
Are we talking just raw representation?
or the top 0.1% keys?
I see an even number of paladins and druids doing 30+ keys right now.
around a 5% difference in representation in the 15 key range with a class that has 4 specs vs 3.
I’m talking about in SL after Holy got fairly substantial changes having Holy power added back into its design. The most changes I think of all the healers. I’m not a Pally player so I could be way off but I’ve heard they’re a fair bit worse than in bfa
Then priest is a very close 2nd, that nerf did almost nothing, their boon covenant ability is still extremely strong.
and in Raid Disc/Shaman is looking like top tier while druid is mid at best.
I hope you’re right. From what I’ve heard disc is middle of the pack. If it is number 2, I don’t think its a close second to Resto. But I genuinely hope you’re right cause I would happily main a Priest if true
I get people are frustrated that balance, feral, and guardian aren’t top specs right now, but why do you always come after resto?
What did we do to you?
Relax dude
You can address your own issues without having to tear us down to your level. That’s just cutting off your nose to spite the face.
Don’t read too much into the “SL Tier Lists for Ranged/Melee/Healer/Tank” or the “how they feel” videos that are flooding Twitch and Youtube. They all put that little subject to change disclamer in the beginning and most of the time something has changed in Beta in less that 48 hours of the video being posted.
There a few that actually give good feedback on what has changed for the better/worse from BFA to SL but take it with a grain of salt. The more accurate Tier List will be out 3 months after launch and no additional changes.
I don’t care about the other 3 druid specs at all. I’m talking about Resto’s performance compared to the other healers.
I did suggest in the op that maybe the other specs need buffs instead of Resto getting a nerf. My point is that I’d like to see the imbalance adressed which I think is a pretty fair goal.
So druid will be getting bubbles? And mass dispel? And a party buff?
Wait until people realize that priests can trivialize an entire affix with the touch of a button.
Reactions like this is precisely why classes dont get fixes they need. You see some healer specs woefully under represented in dungeons, and your first thought is, ‘well…what do i get (pouty face)’.
Sure resto druids needs something to make them more appealing in raid settings, i agree. dont be so close-minded.
Also worth mentioning, is that bubbles(pallies? this was vague) and mass dispel are class, and in some cases spec, unique. Battle rez is neither of these, multiple specs and classes have access to this, and it has up until SL been available via profession. It really should just be made available to all healers.
Will this devaluate dps classes that have a battle rez? Nope. Because without the dps having a battle rez, the healer themselves have no rez protection if they die. So a dps brez still brings utility to the table.
Right? Im not even sure what metric someone would use to say they are the best. According to bestkeystone.com, which parses runs for the week, druids are #3 in success rate this week, beaten out by pally and disc. Last weeks affixes had the exact same thing, druids at only the third highest success rate.
Mythic dungeon invitational was almost all monk healers doing high 20 keys.
If the metric is total number of runs, that can be chalked up to enjoyability or ease certainly.
Leaderboard then? Nope just as many pallies in the top as druids.
Listening to Madskillz, Growl and Automic Jak, my (admittedly fairly ignorant) understanding is it’s because Druid currently one of the best in Bfa, historically have been one of the best for a few expansions, and its only real competition in bfa, Pally, has been more or less nerfed in sl while resto has been buffed. The other specs are also more or less where they are in BFA and haven’t receieved any meaningful buffs to help them overcome the hurdles they had in BFA to catch up. Resto has so many advantages.

High Dps. With a click on one button their sunfire is able to dot up multiple enemies for massive damage. The dps here is insane, uncapped and instant. Imo this is another contender for what could be cut (or nerfed) to nerf druid without hurting their raid performance too much. Then, just by the nature of hot healing, they switch into a dps form to unload some pretty decent dps healing. I know you guys know how it works but this is a huge advantage that can’t be understated. It’s good at m+ just by it’s fundamental design.
-
Battle Rez. It’s the only healer with one.
-
Nature’s cure is one of the few abilities’ that can remove poison. It’s not exclusive but it’s def a m+ boon
-
It has one of the best tank external cooldowns in Ironbark with it’s precious damage reduction.
-
High mobility. Probably the best mobility in the game with basically everything being an instant cast aside from Regrowth (which still has a relatively fast cast time) and Tranquility. Then it’s got plenty of movement options such as cat/travel form which can be used as often as needed as well as Dash/Tiger Dash and Wild Charge.
-
A plethora of other great utility like Roots, Soothe and Typhoon
The balance is fine. If anything other classes should get some more utility for 5-mans; RDruid is relatively poor in a raid environment and the only way to nerf it to not suit M+ is by removing its utility.
Let it be.
Is that because of broken Fistweaver though?
I’m not disagreeing with your point, just curious if that’s why it was so popular.
It was because Chi Ji let you pull huge mobs when coordinated properly. It’s a cooldown that would heal allies proportionate to damage delt. So if you pulled like 20 dudes and then used spinning crake kick, you could get tons of aoe healing off. Unfortunately Chi-Ji was nerfed into the ground and you can’t do that anymore in SL. It’s now capped at healing 2 targets.
Edit: It’s also worth noting that it doesn’t work when trying to push keys much higher than the mdi.
Eh, similar to how disappointed I felt when I tried disc and realized that Radiance and Holy Nova, which taking tooltips at face value, make it sound like it would do exactly that . . . and then just not.
Why even bring up people that are in the 0.1%?
Have you played and experienced any of these specs on your very own to form your own conclusions?
Do you ever run keys that high?
It just seems like you want something to be balanced for the sake of adhd.
Yes, I’ve played every healer except for Pally. Not at the high key level mind you but even at the lower key level I have found resto healing to be super easy compared to the other 4 healing spec’s I’ve played. Imo the advantages are apparent even in low keys
