Thatâs easy to say about a multinational billion corporate given its legacy of greed but its an okay assumption but I feel Id be remiss if I didnât I remind you that if Blizz had their way there would be no Classic. They had zero interest in going there which is what caused that whole little PR nightmare with Brackâs now infamous line. How funny is it that we now find out the dude was 100% on the mark. Prophet status - no one believed him but he was right, lol. He understood you - Blizzard is an expert on selling out so he knew what sellouts looked like and wanted and gave it to them no matter what it did to the integrity of the game and uhhh thats called uhhh retail I think.
Lets not forget their negligence on the matter of Classic could actually have ended up with them losing the IP or at least, not being able to lawfully enforce closures against people filching off of LHCâs vanilla emulator. So they had a very good reason to get involved (Dota anyone? Look that up if you dont know) and maintain their legal stranglehold on their intellectual property.
Lets also keep in mind their was a huge amount of pessimism on the whole thing starting with the Wall of No all the way until âClassic isnât going to last 3 weeks.â Super greedy (yet clearly out of touch) Blizzard was short something like 70 servers to meet the demand. Estimated 3 million players returned for it (although many of them are gone now lol - I, for one, am not surprised ahha). Think they woulda had that figured out if it was about cashing in instead of just giving in, which is what they did.

Well not entirely true. The original XFL was intended to be seasonal but like SOM it flopped big time

Sorry, I donât play Diablo and I never will.
But why would they expect MMO and online-rpg demographics to overlap? Who the heck has that much time to devote to role-playing games? Not me.
Although if Diablo is anything like it used to be in the D2 era, I recall that most players were using cheats and hacks and whatnot, so I guess that might help you get a little free time to do stuff like eat, feed your dog, do the laundry, and maybe even wash your car.

They havent abandoned anyone. They like to rotate the wow product on offer to keep the max amount of users bouncing between retail, classic and what ever progression expac they come up with next. Its all mapped out it will be back.

Literally any communication is all weâre asking for. Even if its âWeâre abandoning Classicâ atleast then weâd now
It is a lot to ask. If they announce something and have to change it the forums will erupt, making these complaints look like childâs play.
We are not entitled to any information on their plans, even though it would be nice.

Theyâre able to provide an entire road map for retail however, why do we not deserve the same courtesy?
I donât pay attention to retail and itâs news so Iâm not able to comment on the frequency of update info they give it. That said, we arenât entitled to anything from them although itâs nice they do communicate on that version. I feel that Classic is just a filler game for their retail version. Might be why it has less priority? /shrug
I have 5 days left on my sub and am not sure if I should re-sub or not. I love classic era but it is just as easy to play this content on a private server that even has classic plus, some servers numbering will over 4k active players.
I need fresh servers.
I need SOM.
Where is blizzard right now? I might just let my sub die until they give us some sort of content.
Also, I am not interested in HC, which exists in private servers as well.
