BC Lasted Jan 16, 2007 to November 13, 2008 1 year 11 months
Wrath lasted until Dec 7, 2010, 2 years 1 month
Cata lasted until Sept 25, 2012, 1 year 10 months
Mop lasted until until Nov 13, 2014, 2 years 1.5 months

Legion lasted until August 13, 2018, 1 year 11.5 months
Bfa lasted until November 23, 2020, 2 years 2 months
It’s been right around 2 years the whole time. Even vanilla which was released Nov 2004 lasted only about 2 years and 2.5 months
there trying to make quicker dumb deadlines everything else, the whole pressure thing is the problem cause mmo’s just ain’t quick it just ain’t happening and patches are supposed to be. just be happy there’s still mmo’s around not like there the go to anymore but keeping gamers happy is impossible no matter what .
Actually I retract my previous statement, I disagree, it feels finished and quite polished. The zones look absolutely amazing, and you can see they put in a lot of work into giving it detail. The raid too is also amazing as well as the dungeons.
No Archeology, bare bones professions, covenant things like the conservatory, maw and torghast getting a last minute pass to give purpose systems. Combat and mechanics more annoying than fun, buggy raid, small zones, probably most basic dual faction capital you could come up with.
9.1 looking like it might be 7-10 months after launch.
I don’t know.
They might not be staffed and managed to provide quality expansions and content patches in a timely fashion.
They said PTR would be “soon” after 9.0.5 launch, could be as early as next week, 2 month ptr would put us right in line for a 5-6 month tier where it should be.
We don’t actually know when the filmed blizzcon, cause that sure as hell wasn’t live.
If it ends up being August there will be very few here to receive it.
Hey we all get that Covid19 screwed a ton of things up. That being said there is work from home. Zoom meetings, it’s not like we’re in the 19th century and they’d have to phone people one at a time on a land line rotary dial phone.
This is the 21st Century and we have the internet and a ton of programs and resources to get around what’s happening.
I was going to do a P.S. but knowing how Activision depends on China which in itself is REALLY Sad! Accountability needs to happen.
There’s no question that the art guys knocked it out of the park, again. But the content and play feels very unfinished, like they had a lot more to do but didn’t make it into the game… yet.
Should be 4-5 months for customer retention. Maybe that’s a personal opinion but every time you have a content drought you loose people that will never come back.
And when they met the low end deadlines the patches were on PTR within month of launch, not more than 4 months after.
Too long they are going to lose a lot of people if they do that. Covid19 or not this expansion right now (in my opinion) is already struggling hardcore.
Now the 1-2% hardcore player is having a great time, can you pay your server farm on a 1-2% customer base. Make no mistake the rest of the 98-99% are hated but they are necessary.
Well unless Candy Crush plans to give all their profits to holding up Warcraft.
It was unfinished. That’s why there was a delay. Can you imagine what it would’ve been like if they would’ve released on the original date? They simply couldn’t put it off anymore from the business side & we got a total wreck. That’s why most currency amounts are so dumb, they literally didn’t have time to put proper amounts and just slapped on random numbers.
June should be there release date they are shooting for, anything more and there won’t be a lot here to even receive it.
Sorry but because the initial phase was so bad to a lot of the player base it’s going to put pressure on the developers.
Can’t be helped because other than the 1-2% a lot of people were peeved, a lot have left and more are planning to. It’s a train wreck, it is what it is.
Covid has caused so many problems, that is why I’ve toned down my vitriol towards the Developers. They are human, they are keeping themselves safe (I Hope) and it’s put real pressure on them.
P.S. Thank you everyone for the conversation today, I appreciate all of you. Stay safe, Stay Healthy. /Laters
