Is housing worth the dev time?

Simply put, yes it is.

On a side note…since Blizzard has repeatedly said they have been running separate teams for the different branches of WoW and content types… Dev time is not an issue. A popular system like housing will probably create even more jobs as it takes off.

Idk why ppl cant understand that adding more ppl to a dungeon making team instead of housing should in theory yield more dungeons. So id orefer resources be spent in that manner. They arent but oh well. The budget however is the busget and finite.

Also yea theres some rare mogs and mog is the only true endgame but i aint farmin a piece for 8 years. Theres probably another that easily fits

Unless its like garrosh shoulders but since we have remix like why bother.

They should allow us non-housers to sell our plot of land to others who do want to play barbie dress up house. I’ll start the bid on my land at 5.5 million.

IDK why people don’t understand that the dungeon making team has been deemed the appropriate size and if they cant justify a content expansion beyond dungeons to justify more team members they just wont get any…

This thread wasnt to comment if the team size is correct

Frankly its not if all we get is only 8 dungeons. 8 is pathetic shrinkflation.

Bfa and legion had it right. Now we get mechagon every other patch

Calling it shrinkflation when it’s been that way for nearly 10 years is a bit much. And you cant actually blame Housing on that can you?

Now, IF they said the next expansion only has 6 dungeons then you’d definately have a point. But if it’s 8 like its been for 3 expacs then it means - once again - that NOTHING was lost dev time wise.

Which theory is that? The one where they have had the same 8 dungeon mechanism since Shadowlands? They have made their choice in how many dungeons will turn up each expac. Throwing more Devs at it is not going to change that.

And why would you want more than that anyways? I M+. I do it with two regular groups of friends. I’m not feeling a need for more different dungeons. Blizzard have enough trouble balancing the ones they have already.

I mean shrinkflation is going from bfa to SL. Then i could argue reusing old dungeons in a season is too because no more seasonals etc

They redeemed a bit this xpac with one per patch but i want like 14 dungeons an xpac

And yes something is lost. If the moving of housing devs to dungeon team made it so we hd 14 dungeons then housing cost us that. If they increased team size to do it.

Idk how the teams evolved after they made some acquisitions a bit back

I just blocked him. Im tired of repeating the same crap to 17 alts in here.

and EVEN IF they lost something for our housing…TOUGH…WE have done without for their end game for years now…they’ll survive

Well, if you actually read what people have posted they can tell you stuff like how a different dev team (I think from Chicago) was brought on board specifically to develop housing. No teams were moved from the dungeon team.

Secondly, you are NEVER going to get 14 dungeons an expac. I want to win a million tax free dollars. Doesn’t mean I should get it or even deserve it. We’ve NEVER had 14 dungeons an expac and why the hell would you? It’s hard enough learning the 8 + reruns that we get.

I haven’t raided above LFR since Legion. Instead, I’ve been achievement hunting. And now it seems all that rep farming/old raiding farm/max all professions is going to pay all.

You don’t have a plot of land to sell unless you buy it first…see if you buy a plot then you like Housing cause its perked you into buy a plot …

Yes it will Kaelatara…your a head of the curve…

By way all there is new link to new Video put out by Nobbel87 …was put out just 7 hrs ago…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ER5O_qQccZs

Thing is, if they had never done housing, you’d still only be getting the same dungeons and raids that you are now. That’s how it works when they make a new team. The old team doesn’t change, it just keeps doing what it does and goes forward. Also throwing more people at something doesn’t mean you will get more dungeons, if anything it will slow stuff down because you get too many people trying to work on too much and they get in each others way.

“But everyone will stay in their houses and the hub cities will be empty!”

Wouldn’t they already BE empty with people questing, gathering resources, and raiding?

Also we can’t get more decor if we just sit around the house the same way we can’t get more TMOG just sitting around Stormwind/Orgrimmar.

I dunno, if you are saying that housing will mean I don’t talk or meet some of those people who hate housing, I’m not sure if that’s a big a negative as some people might think

I’m quoting people who say it. I’m on your side, I made a meme to poke fun at them!

you keep saying this, but you’re missing the point. we know they have different teams, but they only have one budget. and i guarantee doing housing meant something else needed to be cut in order to stay within budget. not to mention they’re using housing as the primary (only?) selling point of the expansion. without housing, they would have needed to come up with something else big and innovative to sell an otherwise barebones expansion. THAT’S what we’re missing out on.

LOL, ok, nice meme
