Is Horde supposed to actually feel accomplished after this raid?

Maybe the next raid will turn the tables, and we will get to pound on the alliance in retaliation.

I ,for one, would be totally cool with Blizz going full Game of Thrones on this ish. I really like the idea of an xpac where the primary focus is the faction conflict, was kind of hoping the “big bads” would take even more of a back seat than they currently are. Let’s let the Old Gods be the backdrop to OUR conflict for once.

We should have crazy, lore impacting battles. I don’t know if we want to start killing off race leaders in bulk, but guys like Shadow Hunter Ty’Jin, Rokhan, Nathanos Blightcaller, that homie who came back with Alleria and the lightforged draenai, Jaina’s mom. They should all be fair game and be experiencing real casualties like in a real war.

Because OP feels bad about a raid on the Zandalari when the majority of the kaldorei were burned alive. He thinks he’s suffering some personal defeat, but I have more vIcTIm pOIntS so I win.

Can you name a raid where the Alliance “just loses” to The Horde?

Do you think The Horde is gonna now invade Kul Tiras with Sylvanas, Tilanji and Nathanos, destroy the Kul Tiran fleet, murder Jaina in front of her mother, and get away without a single casualty of anyone important?

You already know the answer.

Except next raid is Crucible which leads to the Nzoth storyline and probably the Nzoth raid

Yeah…I was making a joke about our non-existent uldir lore.

Horde: Multiple zones dedicated to the what and why’s of going into Uldir.

Alliance: “Hey, this stuff’s nasty-looking. LETS KILL EVERYTHING!

Before his time? Bwonsamdi already said over and over how old he was and how long he’d been waiting for him. He was way past his sell-by date.

If this was Game of Thrones, Jaina would have stayed to see Tilanji mourning the loss of her father, went over to her to give her condolences, only to be killed by Tilanji in retaliation with her saying “For The Horde.” as the last thing Jaina heard before she died.

But Blizzard would never do that, I’m fairly certain.

You’re right. Because literally every other raid in the game is “go fight the big bad guy who’s a demon/old god/dragon/etc”. Can you think of another raid that literally centers around faction war? Where one faction is literally attacking another one’s city?

You already know the answer. This is a “first”, so yeah… One side is going to lose… That’s the freaking point… And boy, I hope you don’t say SoO is the same as this raid…

Yup, dumb. I was really hoping for something along the lines of Cataclysm in terms of world impact.

Like maybe you roll into Grom’Gol and see that the alliance has kicked our asses out of Stranglethorn Vale, and now that outpost is theirs. Then you roll into Ashenvale, and see that the Horde has burned the Alliance villages in there to the ground and now rule that zone. And then we kill off medium level NPC’s in conflicts over these territories. Could be so epic

King Rashtakan did oath bind his entire line to god of death to get enough power to take back his throne…
So there is hope for Blizz yet!

That seems to be her default plan. Pretty much every time I see Horde forces on Kul Tiras there is Plague involved. Oh and more and more I’m seeing death rattles from Major Forsaken NPCs who are HAPPY that they’ve been killed.

“Plague for you, plague for you, plague for you. Oh, fudge, we wanted to use Kul Tiras for farming or settling it once we drive out the Alliance. We can’t because our dumb as rocks Warchief made it a toxic dump that nobody, not even Forsaken, can live in!”

She’s become the Lich Queen. Straight up. Only thing left is for her to go challenge Bolvar and try and take his helmet.

But he’s not part of the Horde. Not yet, in fact this raid is the only reason they join.

Garrosh was my Warchief. Blizz never gave me a choice :frowning:

Except she cut a deal with an entity in bed with the Old Gods for the Lantern. The end result (if we hadn’t killed her) would have been bad for Everyone. You don’t cut a deal with eldritch abominations without consequences.

So we destroyed a deal that would have hurt EVERYONE in time. Also, her plan could have done damage to the world itself in the form of altering the flow of souls. Since you have to remember who is in charge of dealing with souls. The Val’kyr are in charge of souls. And if Sylvanas got her way, she would have been in control of the souls of every being on Azeroth. That would have bad for EVERYONE.

Alliance: “The Nightelves no longer have a home!”
Horde: “The Forsaken no longer have a home. Lost Saurfang to Anduin. Malfurian survives. Tyrande becomes a Demi-God Moon Warrior. Sylvanas loses a Valkyr. Maiev starts helping the Nightelves again. Meanwhile the Zandalar fleet is destroyed, Rastakhan dies, and Jaina and Mekkatorque survive via plot armor.”

Alliance: “Genn Greymane’s son is dead.”
Horde: “Sylvanas got her lantern broken. Therefore ending the possibility of her ever giving the Forsaken a better home. Then forcing the Forsaken to have to live on through more drastic means, that they then complain about.”

Horde: “Hey, the Horde are always written always with a problem inside their own ranks, and inept, and in fighting and making Sylvanas essentially Garrosh 2.0 after promising not to. How about The Alliance have some conflict within themselves?”

Alliance: “Arthas happened like 15 years ago. No need to rehash old stuff.”

Considering how blatant Old God intervention was (Alliance Side, haven’t done the horde storyline yet) it was inevitable the Old Gods were involved.

We’re cruising toward a “oh fudge, the old gods are trying to maul our world, again, time to put our war on hold, while we work together, and against each other, again, to keep our world intact.”

Gee, that’s been done so many times in WoW that it has become a meme by now.

So have we stopped arguing that Seige of Dazar’Alor is more Horde focus/bias/winning then? Because that’s what I remember the GD being on about when it was first announced and that didn’t make any sense to me, lol.

Helya was one of the titan-forged who battled the forces of the Old Gods. She is not their ally. Nor is Sylvanas, which is why The Void voices go crazy with fear whenever she’s near her sister.

But at this point, I’m expecting Blizzard to eventually retcon that too. It’s pretty obvious given the plot holes, and continuance errors of this raid and aftermath, that they no longer care about that stuff and will fit in whatever they can wherever without any further effort given to consistent lore. Even if it’s only months old.

Almost like the title of the raid hints at it…cry much? Horde got to beat 2 big lore characters … Sometimes crying for attention isn’t worth it

Helya threw in her lot with Loken. He worked with the Old Gods. Also, when you look at the state of her body, its very much in line with the kind of alterations that happen when people work with the Old Gods. Their bodies tend to get mutated in time. Often taking on tentacles or other such features.
