Yeah, I used to main it. I liked it. Really depends on what playstyle you like the most, its a pretty subjective question.
Holy Priest is about as dull and generic as it comes.
Youâre a healer. Youâre a priest. Youâre a good boy/girl that uses Holy magic to heal from the back.
Itâs like explaining the role âHealerâ to a child.
Whereâs the flavor?
Some peopleâs favorite flavor is vanilla.
And Iâm pretty sure theyâre all playing Holy Priest.
Found the loser that turned down my mythic plus inv request.
As to answer your question, obviously I like this class. I chose a role when I returned to WoW on my 4 year hiatus that I had never played before, and holy priest was the top contender. I can say the class has grown on me for sure, and Iâve tried to play alts over the past 8 months since iâve been back but i still always come back to this guy.
I donât know what that means if Iâm honest with you.
Was that supposed to mean something?
PS youâre not acting like a Holy good boy right now. I think youâre a Disc priest in denial.
Holy priest was the first healer I tried and I really enjoyed it. That is until blizz revamped holy and disc into what they are now. I donât care for the holy words play style. There are a lot of buttons and nuance to it.
When MoP released I tried a mistweaver and never looked back. I love it, even in itâs not so great iteration right now. The spec has gone through many changes, but I canât quit it. This is my second mistweaver, I rerolled bc I can no longer stand looking at my blood elf. Too many elves everywhere and she no longer has any uniqueness to her. Iâm also not about to pay for a race change.
I dabbled with holy paladin this expansion. It filled the void of not having my mistweaver due to the changes made. Itâs been fun, learned on the fly by jumping right into mythic+. But I miss my favorite class and so have given up holy paladin.
Iâve tried resto druid, I have a love/hate relationship with the HoT heavy style. I have trust issues with them. Resto shaman is not for me. Again they have a lot of buttons and totem management seems like a nightmare. I absolutely hate the disc priest play style, Iâd take the old version back in a heartbeat.
Iâll definitely say itâs more fun than disc. Tracking atonements is not fun at all. Also contrary to popular belief, holy can easily out dps disc. The only caveat is that youâre not healing when doing so.
It is more fun than disc. If I wanted to play an air traffic controller, Iâd actually become one because then I would be getting paid to do it. Plus, shadowmend spam is the dullest thing to do, and many a disc priest are in denial if they say they arenât doing that.
I donât like apotheosis as a cd or holyâs legendary options
The damage abilities too i donât really like compared to the other healers
Hpal has hammers of wrath/judgment as instant big hitters and CS which can be used when you canât cast or are silenced
Mw teachings of the monastery 3x blackout kick and resetting rising sun kick. Spammable spinning crane kick out of combat which is great for adhd
Disc penance legendary for 3 extra penance bolt and next tier the 45% penance damage increase on top of blazing light and of light and darkness is really exciting
Resto druid kitty affinity being very swift and rot with necro and 40% damage increase legendary on single target
Resto shaman for life
Holy priest is fine, but a bit boring. Maybe thatâs the Flash Concentration leggo, idk.
I feel like Iâm the only one here who enjoys holy priest more than any other class.
What makes resto shaman more fun? I would like to read opinions
I donât like having an interrupt because then the group canât blame you when something doesnât get interrupted
I like the amount of stuff in the kit. All the totems. SLT is a really fun healing CD, especially in keys. Ghost dog is also awesome-- itâs really great at sort of âundoingâ a positioning mistake. I also like being more of a throughput healer as opposed to just putting hots on everyone and hoping for the best. In the case of this last point, holy priest is similar. Also, a 12 second interrupt just slaps.
I like the flavor, too. Kind of nature themed, but unique enough to feel different from druid.
Hope this clarifies for you.
I personally like how âblandâ holy priest is. In terms of how it heals atleast. I also like the fantasy.
Biggest issue with Hpriest is itâs kind ofâŠan incomplete spec? It doesnât even have a proper defensive cooldown.
Compared to hpally, no. Iâve mained hpally since Cata, and I will not budge lol.
RDruid - meh. Theyâve messed with tree heals so much over the years, that I just do not find it as fun anymore.
My priesty healer I actually play as holy. I tend to find it more fun than disc, but thatâs almost always been my personal preference for priesty.
I still prefer RestSham over priest though.
Iâd like Hpal if it wasnât so clunky.
Thereâs too many things going on at once.
Trying to get close to a mob, attack and heal is cumbersome. I love Hpal in classic, not so much here which is tragic since it would be my 2nd have healer. I rather go Ret lmao.
Very well put! I agree with pretty much everything you said. Iâve been maining a priest since Wrath and this is the first expansion that I havenât. I donât want to be disloyal to my chosen spec for so many years, but just the sheer amount of utility that my resto shaman brings to group content makes the priest in me jealous. Itâs nice for a change to be actually desired for m+ groups and feel useful beyond healing numbers.
As to the OP: yes, holy is fun to me, but fun is subjective. I currently enjoy the Flash Concentration legendary as it adds some depth to the playstyle, but I know a lot of other players dislike the maintenance required to keep the buff active. You really do almost need the weak aura to track it.
Holy priest is a class thatâs nice to have, but for the most part groups wonât be on the lookout for one like they are for other healing classes that can bring just a little bit extra.
My new favorite healer is undead priest. Been a priest since they wrote down the idea for WoW on a napkin in a grease spoon dinner. She seems to enjoy it a lot. She has a fox monk sheâs looking to use for keys next season.
