Is getting into a guild as dps shaman impossible?

Part of the problem, is that the guild’s most likely reason for stagnating, is that better guilds start poaching the desirable classes with gear (since they don’t want to waste time gearing them themselves)… As content gets higher and higher, guilds eventually get filtered down to the elite guilds doing AQ40/Naxx and a bunch of bottom dwelling feeder guilds filled with hybrids, watching all their best players getting poached constantly…

TBA is one such Alliance guild for those interested. Shameless plug.

I think you’ll find recruiting shaman to a be a problem for you guys for most of classic’s lifespan

Yes you can get into a raid guild.
Just not a good one.
Unless they feel like carrying you.
How much gold you got?

Nightfall becomes available in phase 3 assuming they keep the items to the respected time frames.

This is how Enhancement works. I did this on Elysium.

  1. Keep respected totems up
  2. Nightfall proc
  3. Off-Heal/Self-Heal
  4. DPS

With that being said. Warrior, Hunter, and even Ret has better NF uptime. Ret and Enhance need to cap on consumes to pull their weight even doing that. You are better off going resto and specing into two handed specialization anyhow.

Try some reading comprehension. He asked about joining AS a DPS shaman. Not a healer who might get to dps after he proves his worth as a healer.

I think most guilds will just want a consistant raid roster. Only the top guilds who are demanding full consumes per pull are going to ignore you. In fact most guilds during vanilla didnt use consumables or world buffs at all and rarely class stacked so if history repeats itself i think many guilds wont care what your playing.

I think the private server raid environment will be very different to classic. Since the private servers attract alot of players who take vanilla raiding more seriously. As such they tend to expect full consumes and world buffs from all memebers. I dont expect this to be the case come classic (or at least for the first few months when we are flooded with tourists).

Dps and hps checks for all vanilla content are laughably low, so if your guild cant beat a boss i very much dount its because they brought 2 enh shamans and a moonkin. Sure your kill times may drop from say 2 minutes to 4-5, but if everyone can do the simplistic mechanics of vanilla bosses then you shouldnt have anything to worry about.

I wouldnt worry. Even the most casual of guilds has the potential to clear naxx given enough time… and lucky for us, time is one of the things we now have :grinning:

And I replied the method by which he may be able to gain the ability to do a very ‘trust required’ role like a DPS shaman. I know that entitlement is high, but “prove you can do it, before we will let you” is a tenet of hybrid spec Vanilla play.

I’m really starting to wonder if you actually played vanilla at all.

And there’s a very easy test to prove it. I’ll let you work it out.

Pretty much this. Any of the ultra-try-hard guilds will likely tell you no. Something about world firsts that happened 15 years ago or something like that.

Casual raid guilds just looking to do the content and have fun are not going to care if you’re a dps shaman so long as you show up on time, ready to go.

Posting on your “partner’s” account doesn’t lend credence to whether or not you actually played though.

Oh thats just cause I didnt quote the post i was replying to, which was talking about Alliance guilds taking limited try hard meme-speccers. That information may provide some logical context :stuck_out_tongue: Clearly im awful at quoting in general.

At least the tryhard guilds will quickly come and go in classic because they all live by the Fresh™ meme lifestyle of gaming.

Uh, this is and always has been only my account. Another attempt to discredit the person, instead of being able to actually make a case on the discussion.

You have no evidence on that account that you were in Vanilla at all. At least I can back up my position.

That was a whole lot of edits in a 60 second window. Overthinking it much?

No, I looked at your account afterwards, and realised you’re completely hot air and never were in Vanilla. So now I can just ignore everything you said as a Private Server Only player.

I especially like how you made the mad dash to edit out your political angle. Never choke or lack the courage of your convictions. That just makes it sad.

This thread is going more places than the water totem quest.

Did you mean “realized”?
