Is flying coming in 8.1.5?

I’ve always been of the mind that flying, if they’re going to gate it, needs to come in the “1.5” part of the x-pac. Once the primary continent is populated mostly by alts and new levels, everyone else should be able to fly.

Then the next zones released in the xpac can be flying locked for awhile, if they really must be, and open up flying the patch after their respective release.

No flying has absolutely nothing to do with experiencing the zones or slowing progression. It has everything to do with ion hazzikostas new method of telling shareholders that everybody is enjoying the game because look " they are spending x more time in the game"

Instead of relying on sub numbers to paint the picture of the game, he changes the method when subs no longer tell the story he wants.

I dont care either way how flying is unlocked either it be up front gold or pathfinder achievement, flying should be part of the core game when it launches. Something you can work towards, something youd expect a reasonably committed player to achieve at the 6month mark (If merely to feed this desire that players want to run to every single wq’s dungeon raid farming etc)

As for the players vocal that they dont want flying USE A GROUND MOUNT… Problem solved!

Give us flying in 8.1.5 please. This whole Pathfinder thing is just a time gate, nothing about it is difficult.

Nope. It’s simply not needed, you get around fast enough without it.

But I also believe that scaling doesn’t go far enough. For me the only places you should be relatively safe in are the capitals. Every where in the open world should be very dangerous. You should never be able to pull and defeat anymore than two mobs.

Well it’s a good thing you’re not in charge of game development

Flying comes…and then what? You’ll be back here the day after 8.2 launches insisting how the game is dead because you didn’t encounter one person despite the fact we’re all going to be in the air, and that you’re able to burn through content too quickly because you can land exactly where any quest you get wants you to go. Flying is a convenience, however that convenience comes at a cost that the game won’t be able to afford given the current active base. It would be highly demoralizing to continue in a game where literally not one person will be seen on the ground for days.

Funny isnt it how FF14 doesnt seem to have a problem with flight at all…which is where I will b e come end May.

Rubbish. Absolute garbage.

Yep for most of you weak livered people who want to put no effort in and expect things to drop dead at the sight of you sure. ( that’s a joke in case y’all missed it)

But for those who actually want to be challenged, have patience and like to actually play you toon, you know like go through your whole rotation a couple of times to kill something instead of pressing two buttons, it’s how it should be.

Not everyone thinks the same which is a huge problem for developers in games like wow.

Your way is just as valid as mine

Well it is at least partially working. You are not playing that often but paying your subscription every month.

So does your class have three or four buttons? I haven’t played hunter in years. I ask because most of my toons have played have about three real abilities for a “rotation” and a handful of situational buttons.

All you’ve managed to do is provide you’re a fairweather fan. Comparing a 15 year old game to a game that had to have 2 launches (due to backlash) within a 4 year run doesn’t make any sense.

On my raid toon I have sixteen I use regularly about eight or nine every fight. It’s not as bad as people make out. And if they aren’t using that many they are not playing to help their team.

I have Ummmm 11 hunters I think all up. More coming as new ARs are released

Fairweather?:

2010 - today = 8 years.

Makes perfect sense to me to shift to a game that focusses on what they give their customers…not what they take from them.

Okay, so like 6 months longer than half the time WoW has been around? Neat.

Blizzard isn’t taking anything from you. They’ve already setup the Pathfinder achievements for this expansion. However, you would find yourself back on the forum in the next week of 8.2 launch talking about how you burned through content too quickly because you received what you asked for. Actually, it’d be a benefit to have you leave. You don’t look at consequences. You’re just focused on that toxic instant gratification.

I don’t think my DH has anywhere close to 9 buttons that could be any kind of damage rotation. That’s what I currently use when playing dps. I mainly just heal in my monk. I am pretty sure my frost mage doesn’t have 9 buttons used in every fight.

Yeah they have…only the first part was finishedlast year and the next part is the better part of a year away. Kinda a very long time dont you think?

Mate, I have no intention of sitting on my hands and on the ground for another FIVE MONTHS ( oh and paying 15 a month x 5 months = $75 AUD_ waiting for the content to graciously allow me to fly…that is IF Blizzard doesnt pull a WOD and tell us we wont be flying at all.

I will be paying and playing alongside all the OTHER WOW players who have had it with the incessant timegates. FF14 may have had two launches…it is also booming and has a lot of good gameplay…including FLIGHT with no timegates attached to it.

Unfortunantely, there’s no free mount involved with waiting for 5 months. Go ahead and unsubscribe. I’d imagine it’d be one less person to mince player feedback too.

Same reason why flying is always gated. A new expansion is released before the graphics are finished. Flight paths and invisible walls control what parts of the map we can see so the unfinished parts aren’t seen. Finishing up the graphics so the environment looks good from every angle is a low priority. Once they’ve finished fixing the graphics they’ll make open flight possible. That won’t happen until the stuff that has priority is finished though.
