Is fighting to win, selfish?

No u should not feel guilty for wanting to win, its pretty sad that the meta involves throwing games. One way to mitigate this could be u lose honor for losing games lol.

I can guarantee you the vast, VAST majority of people would oppose this change. You think casuals have a bad time in BGs already? Imagine if they actually lost honor when getting roflstomped in a PUG vs a premade.

Casuals cant get to rank 14 anyway, so I don’t think it would affect them much. The decay is lower at lower ranks too.

If the reduced honor was only affecting one person, then that one person would be at a deficit. But when every single person across the board has their honor cap lowered, then the affect is normalized.

I can see how it would balance out a little, due to the top brackets being forced to lower their honor caps. The only reason the honor caps are so high, is because randoms can screw it all up, by pushing the cap higher than the rest in the bracket. But then, these randoms would find it harder to ruin the top brackets due to the need to win… only premades could ruin it instead.

The issues I have, is, I don’t believe in a quick fix, so I’m sure there’s something I’m over looking. Also, drastic changes like this goes against the ā€œclassicā€ experience. But thumbs up for the good suggestion.

It may not be inline with your definition, but that’s OK.

Indeed.

That’s how I felt about this. You’re entitled to your own opinion, as am I. Mine is that this opinion is nonsense.

I don’t think so. BGs are pretty casual friendly, with the exception that in some games, there are some people who are trying to throw the game, even before it has begun. But, this doesn’t seem to be the rule.

It’s not ā€œmyā€ definition, it’s the definition. Surrendering is not cheating. Get a grip.

I don’t think you understand what definition means. If someone is throwing a game, in order to gain a personal advantage, yet I am there in order to enjoy the game, i.e. competition, then yes, they are cheating.
