I’m not and I have far more experience with the spec than you do it would seem, sorry.
Maybe your tanks are also not pressing their buttons, but I’ve played with augs that aren’t completely mailing it in that still lose to tanks in mythic raid.
Aug does awful damage even when you’re playing it close to perfectly.
Are you taking about personal damage? If that’s the case then yeah it is low … Decisively sub tank in most situations.
Details has a setting to estimate your actual damage based on group buffs which is what I was talking about.
Details isn’t even close to correct. You have to look at logs to see augs actual overall even remotely accurately.
I have limited experience with dps evoker in pve, so I’m going to talk a bit about pvp.
Augmentation is very challenging in pvp because of the combination of low range, single casting school, no way to keep targets slowed, and main attack spreading its damage on multiple targets and pets. Breath of Eons is easy to dodge and the damage it does can be easily negated. It can be really strong if the stars align, which is very rewarding and is what motivates me to keep playing the spec.
Devastation is much simpler, but easy to screw up with and has easily exploitable weaknesses. Its damage potential is extremely high, but I’ve seen very few scary devokers and far more mediocre ones, compared to something like hunter or DH.
