Is Edwin VanCleef…

Maybe not. Cause most of the creation were quite a failure

Flintlocke lets Lowping be captured by the Naga.

If you are asking about Lowping’s lust perhaps you never read Kosak’s Flintlocke’s Guide to Azeroth which visibly has Lowping harass barmaids and Bloodrose with Flintlocke enabling him because “He had needs!”

Flintlocke is constantly shown as protective of Lowping in the Comic even going on a murderous rampage because a Rabbit managed to kill him.

Flintlocke abandoning Lowping to the Naga is quite shocking considering how protective of him he was.

Blizzard also once covered for Afrasiabi until California’s Government got involved which resulted in Blizzard firing the guy.

These two things just seem so similar to me and since the former event happened during Legion while the latter happened during Shadowland’s Development the former seems prophetic.

The nobles in WoW lore are tamed compared to the real ife history of nobility and how they treated those under them in their caste system.

No. Plus I kind of feel bad that we helped the nobles who didn’t paid for the workers and stonemasons who were once regular day civilians and soldiers of the alliance who are the Defias Brotherhood and pretty much were treated like the scum at this point.

Not I’m not saying that Edwin VanCleef is 100% Innocent since He and the Stonemasons cause the riots that killed Varian’s Wife which led to major consequences.

There are no mistakes. Only happy accidents

Misunderstood.

He was a good guy that got dealt a bad hand. Hands down. He’s my favourite lore character, to be honest.

Imagine – you rebuild an entire city from rubble with a group of stonemasons; then when the hard work is done, the nobles turn around and laugh in your face saying they’re not giving you squat.

Sure, Lady Onyxia was responsible for the inciting the decision - but the rest of the nobles quickly followed & agreed.

— Ultimately as stated above, a riot broke out and the Queen was sadly killed - although some speculate she wasn’t an accident but a target by those not to do with the riot, but whom simply wanted to instigate more chaos & uproar (Such as servants of Onyxia or the old gods).

George Washington was a domestic terrorist and traitor to the crown who slaughtered the sleeping British in their beds during a Christmas truce. He dropped out of school at 11, not because his family couldn’t afford it, but because he wanted to grow and sell addictive tobacco products to vulnerable uneducated colonials.

When he was employed by the British Military (yes, Washington was a British Officer) he started the French and Indian war by accidentally assassinating Sieur de Jumonville, a minor French noble when Washington murdered 10 Virginian civilians. This also led to the 7 years war in Europe and his botched military action ultimately cost 10’s of thousands of lives.

He almost certainly cheated on his then fiancé Martha with Sally Fairfax, the wife of his best friend. He forced his troops to be vaccinated with Cowpox by lancing them with dirty needles dipped in the pus of sick men with open sores. He eventually died from “a sore throat” because he chose to drain out 40% of his blood to cure it.

During his lifetime he even managed to get diptheria, tuberculosis, smallpox, malaria, dysentery, Quinsy, carbuncle and pneumonia. He also left instructions to leave his body out for three days after his death, because he wanted to be absolutely sure he wasn’t accidentally buried alive.

Anyone can be made to look like a stupid villain in the proper context. So it’s unfair to judge VanCleef without knowing the whole story.

(Side note: he never chopped down a cherry tree, and his teeth were made of endangered hippopotamus ivory, not wood.)

Sepheroth drops down on Aerith. Cloud is out of phoenix downs. Cue sad music.

Edwin was basically Aladdin turned master engineer, rogue and wanted to be paid really well after Warcraft 2, and didn’t, so he got mad and formed a terrorist organization in his Goonies hideout, but was foiled by us meddling kids who discovered he wasn’t a dreadlord but a tragic victim of Puff the bad dragon Katrana.

I mean blanchy is in revendreth so she probably deserved it

Yes he is misunderstood but what he and the brotherhood did was too much and unjustifiable. Causing a fire in Stormwind which I think he did is unforgivable.

I understand him and the masons guild did rebuild Stormwind and the House of Nobles denying the pay is in the wrong but the Brotherhood still did wrong actions towards it.

Poor Old Blanchy.

Blanchy is just misunderstood!

“Good” and “Bad” are relative.

  1. I just redid the questline in Classic a little while ago and one of the guys in Sentinel Hill (Stoutmantle?) says he knows VanCleef and that he’s a good man, and that he’d be surprised if he was behind everything in Westfall.

They rough up the locals a little bit (Furlbrow’s Deed) but I don’t think they really want to hurt anyone, just get what they’re owed. Maybe they think Stormwind will reimburse the people of Westfall somehow; it had to be a real ‘wth?’ moment for him when he and his masons did all that work and SW nobles said they wouldn’t pay, given he didn’t know what was going on behind the scenes at the time.

  1. In contrast, Vanessa intentionally had the Furlbrows killed; I feel that’s wrong, no matter her reasons. She could have just had them kidnapped and relocated somewhere else if they recognized her, they were innocent.

:open_mouth: :o :open_mouth: Bite your tongue! Poor Old Blanchy! She did nothing wrong except try to be a good horse!

Nothing for him to misunderstand. He got cheated, and did what he needed to do to collect his debts. I don’t buy into the blaming Onyxia bit cause someone with morals would recognize that work done = work paid.
