Is dispelling World Buffs now bannable?

So when a level 60 kills a level 48, is that not PvP as well? There’s no way a low level player can match to the gear and level difference. Should those players get banned too? Because I can tell you the phase 2 was a lot less fun to play than losing some buffs.

That is playing the game. Just because something upsets you doesn’t mean the person upsetting you should be banned.

Dispelling is part of the game. It’s not griefing.

On these forums anyone not playing the game exactly the way the forum pukes do is “griefing” or “exploiting”

My (limited) understanding of the situation is that he was watching the stream and targeted the guy because he was a streamer, and even crowed about it in the stream’s chat.

Keywords here are killed and combat.

Sitting as a ghost and res dispelling is neither or those. Its just pure griefing. Anyone that defends it otherwise is trash.

Typical player from this forum :

“I hate worldbuffs” thread : “You don’t need them to raid you know, they are mandatory, if you hate them don’t use them”

When they get dispelled : “WTF THIS IS GRIEFING MY GAME IS RUINED, THEY ARE IMPORTANT BLIZZARD PLS FIX”

On some random PvP thread : “I’m such an alpha player, playing on a PvP server Zug Zug, PvE players, lol, loosers”

Dispell IS PvP. Don’t want to be dispell ? Go on PvE server or try harder.

No because that’s actual pvp.

These res dispelled wouldn’t even be thought of twice if they were actually killing and corspe camping people. Res dispelling is not pvp.

I’d much rather lose ALL of my buffs to a gank and get camped for hours than lose my dispellable buffs to a res dispelling crap priest.

Sure okay, keep telling yourself that.

There’s no need to be so venomous. The streamer didn’t do anything wrong.

There is no “actual” pvp… either something is player vs player related or it ain’t.

Dispelling is part of the game. Go play on a pve server if you value your parses so much.

He is a lowkey streamer, abusing the powers of a GM he had on a leash and then rewarded the behaviour by gifting said GM a sub. He is not even a big streamer. This behaviour needs to be nipped in the bud. Imagine other people doing it.

Not to mention that a violation of a ToS on Twitch is a violation of the ToS. Its not my fault he did not adhere to this website’s rules. Shoulda been a pretty lady, then you can get away with more on twitch.

You guys going around getting world buffs are ruining other peoples fun too, the raid log meta is cancer, and just like we don’t have to run raids if we arent willing to raid log, you don’t have to run raids either if you dont want the risk of getting dispelled. Some people want to enjoy the game the way they want, and if you get to have your fun, well others do too.

Yes, this is the current pitiful state of Actiblizzard. Then people don’t believe me when I say GM fixes loot tables for popular streamers (Esfand, Asmongold…). Stop being naive people, this is nothing new at all and stuff like this has been happening since the BETA invites went out.

To answer your question OP: Is dispelling World Buffs now bannable? Yes if you are a popular streamer and complain about it on screen loud enough.

I’m not sure if I agree with your use of “abuse”. From the clip I saw, he did ask if it was bannable. The GM said yes. I don’t see the problem with Blizzard banning someone for breaking the rules.

I didn’t see this “gifted sub” thing, if you have a timestamp for that I’d love to review it.

Also, I’m not sure why you think his account got banned, it shows perfectly fine for me. How did he violate the twitch tos?

Ah, well I stand very much corrected. Streamer should have taken invis before accepting summon to orb.

Morale of the story is become friends with blizzards GMs so you can have your own banhammer

Well fortunately for me I am not a moron and haven’t done anything report worthy, thus never gotten a ban. I hope that 6 month ban lets him think about how toxic of a player he is. Res dispelling is not pvp, it is griefing. We can all argue but look who is banned for, idk, griefing? Rip dispellers, go delete.

If you are a pvp server you signed up for anything and everything as i was told repeatedly as it related to camping lowbies or NPCs or what have you. This seems to be the logical extension of that idea.

If the case is GMs are not going to interfere with targeting of people on pvp servers it should extend to buffs as well. Call it what you want but the idea of harassing lowbies is no different than being dispelled. You want one you get the other.

I already typed out above why it was an abuse of power on the side of the gm. Neither the streamer or the GM could prove it was intentionally targeted against said streamer. The streamer just accused the priest and the GM then waved his banhammer. Also he did not grief. Griefing requires chronical behaviour against said person. This was a one time dispel. And even if he dispelled said streamer beforehand, to constitute griefing the priest would have to actively stalk the streamer constantly for a long time to even consider that being griefing.

also the gifted sub:

I also never said that he already got banned. I said the subreddit is reporting him for violating the ToS of twitch. Wether they issue a ban remains to be seen. I do encourage reporting though.

The reason is article 9 as it seems.

Ok but this GM just said that what the priest did was a bannable offense, so until Blizzard acknowledges this and/or overrules the GM in chat, I’m going to consider it a bannable offense.
