I’ve gone 37-39 yesterday/today on benediction. It’s not hard. But anybody who thought they would be able to quest in Hillsbrad or arathi highlands the day that they open honor rewards is a moron. People have been marking this as THE day. People are too crazy nostalgic about open world PvP for anything else to happen . Theyve been marking this moment as THE moment for epic tm vs ss world PvP. Just wait. It will die down

Right. Everyone one every server flocked to that area for massive PVP battles. I didn’t know that would happen because I never played before this but 5 seconds in any of the chat channels told me “okay so Southshore is where it’s going down” and I stayed away from there while questing.
Who are these people who know everything about this game but are still trying to quest in the middle of a battle zone?
Btw I PVP’d last night for a good hour with the level 60s and I’m level 48. I still had a great time. Can’t do much damage but I have stuns and other tricks that still help my team secure kills and push the line back. It’s called PVPing.
I’ve been convinced that they are tanking classic on purpose since the start. Literally hundreds of thousands of players wasted time in login queues because blizzard didn’t want to open servers or allow transfers for so long. No other company would sit on their hands while their customers wasted (potentially)millions of hours.
Little QoL things that could have been implemented, but weren’t because of Blizzard’s “you asked for classic so you’re gonna get it and i hope you hate it” mentality.
Some of the outcomes have been unfortunate. As a PvE guy, I, for one, would like 5-mans and raids to be tuned to be a little more challenging, but I guarantee you that if Blizzard would have given in to all the #changes people they would have f’d it up way, way worse. We’d probably have LFG and all sorts of retail crap. It would have opened up Pandora’s box, and many of the people like me that are currently having the time of their lives would not be playing.
There is simply no way to make everyone happy. But at least with #nochanges, a lot of people are happy. Overall, the game has been a smashing success, IMO.
I mean, there’s already borderline too many servers, what to you expect? Them to open 100 classic servers per region, 85 of which will be ghost towns in a year?
You don’t panic and plan around your most popular time when it comes to this, you plan around the usual
they’re a multi million dollar company, open some and then merge…
they have NEVER merged, I don’t think they WILL ever merge
15 years later and they still refuse to merge retail servers
they have “connected” which is basically merging.
and they haven’t done that for over 6 years, I don’t trust them enough, would rather sit in a queue
Yeah and it wasnt the same community, you didn’t have the game all figured out and the r14 push wasn’t scripted like it is now. Things were organic back then, now you have a different meta for the game and the same thing can’t be applied.
This game is legit a dumpster until they release WSG which I’m sure they will do in the coming weeks or the only people left on this game will be the 120 man raids.
Right, I was actually a proponent of honor and bgs from day one honestly, why keep something out of the game that seriously improves it for so many people?
My first mmo was Ultima Online, followed by Asheron’s Call and Everquest. I’m not exactly sure who ‘you babies’ is in reference to there. Are you too young to remember those games?
Let’s not forget that Ion was a hardcore EQ player who jumped ship for wow.
Say what you will about his time leading WoW but when he was just the lead encounter designer he headed some AWESOME raid encounters
So many tears I am having a blast lol
Good for you. I played two of those as well. I’m calling you a baby for being here sniveling, not because of what games you play. Again you’re not a baby for playing WoW; you’re a baby for acting like faction imbalance is so bad that the game is “unplayable.” I’m just saying most people in 2004 would be laughing at you. I guess times have changed.
80/20 and 90/10 is worse than any time in 2004, hate to break it to you
Tigole and Furor came from EQ as well. WoW has always had some really incredibly designed raid content, the quest content courtesy of Furor was totally earth shattering compared to existing mmo leveling content as well and imo, a huge part of why WoW became as popular as it did.
I forgot Jeff and Alex were EQ players honestly, it’s funny that wow was so shaped by things that people probably didn’t like from older mmo’s (grinding because of lack of quests, etc)
You don’t make sense and please dont come back. Quit or go back to retail with your feelings.
You are currently on the Thunderfury server, a post release medium population transfer realm that has among the more balanced populations, with 50.8% horde at last count.
I am on whitemane, a pre-release name reserve server that has roughly 3-4 times the population of thunderfury and boasts a horde majority around 62% per the last attempts at censuses. Not as bad as say…Skeram, but still massively unbalanced.
You’re comparing apples and oranges here, my dear.
