Is Blizzard Tone Deaf?

already did

May I have your gold?

You mean the xpack where people rerolled the same class because the most disgusting legendary drop system made it impossible for the majority to get an item they always should have been able to hand picked in the first place until it got some major changes?

Legion was literally 1% of how good your embellished memories make you believe it was. DF and TWW were/are in a much much much better state than Legion was at the same time after release.

Iā€™m not saying thereā€™s no reason to criticize TWW, Iā€™m just informing you of the fact that Legion wasnā€™t any better and itā€™s a silly comparison.

Mount is fine.
Thanks Blizzard.

I enjoy it.

Think critically for like 5 seconds and realize you donā€™t have to buy the mount with cash (or at all, if youā€™re really so against it).

Itā€™s funny how the people who complain about this game never just vote with their wallets and unsub, not that they would be noticed anyways, I wonder how many canceled subs my new longboi purchase will cancel out.

6 for one month.

The complainers are so hilarious. One of my chars its on Queltalas , Dornogal looks like Jurassic Park with all the Brontos.

If they can buy brontos (with their lower income) why you complain? Git gud

Thereā€™s no power here to have powercreep.

You did that because youā€™re a walmart liquid player who thought it mattered at all. The fact that legion had so much grindy stuff was a good thing because ultimately it showed how silly it was because it was NEVER required to grind anything to beat even the hardest content.

To answer your subject question:

Yes.

Now, to be somewhat fair, entirely different teams at Blizzard are responsible for these various issues, but altogether the timing is awful.

Theyā€™re producing unpolished, untested, buggy content while doing a new, unprecedented sale.

All this is in the name of celebrating twenty years of WoW, thirty years of Warcraft, ostensibly in thanks to customers who are beginning to feel exploited.

Itā€™s a very bad look.

Blizzard and microsoft has absolutely nothing to lose. As long as they make more money thats all they literally care about. In fact with the constant outrage that goes on in the forums they probably just consider it tuesday. As long as they end up in the green there is literally no incentive for them to not do this. If you want to make a statement then people need to quit. Like really quit, not just unsub, people have to skip buying an entire expansion if they want to sting them, because expansion sales are a whole lot more important than subs.

At this point youā€™re just arguing to argue. You like Legion. You donā€™t like this expansion. Somehow a new mount on the cash shop has somehow made it worse. We get it.

If youā€™re going, the X in the top right of your browser window is a good place to start.

Thatā€™s actually funny. Look at the big picture. Activision Blizzard is owned by Microsoft gaming which is part of Microsoft Corp which is owned by the Microsoft stock holders.

Now if you tune in to CNBC or any show talking about stocks, do you think anyone is talking to stock holders about apologizing for anything that their company does?

Caller: ā€œThatā€™s right Harry, I really donā€™t care if my Microsoft stock price goes up, I just want the company I own to apologize for a product they offered at $90.ā€

They forgot we pay a sub for this game, I guess.

This brutosaur stuff is what Iā€™d expect from a Free To Play game.

Itā€™s both, somehow? Disgusting lol.

Companies that never apologize to their customers when they majorly mess up donā€™t keep very high stock prices for long. This is a shortsighted move that doesnā€™t signal long term growth of the game and just signals the death spiral of making more money by the end of the quarter. Iā€™d never tell you to invest in any game company as financial advice. Companies like NVIDIA where they keep innovating despite being the leaders are where you need to look.

Well, if we break down that 1 year sub option:

3 mounts in Retail: $75
1 Mount in Classic: $25
1 pet for each (x2): $20
12 months of subscriptions: $180 in month to month sub pricing

Total value: $300
Asking price: $155.88

So you get all of it for free and save $25 annually on your sub. Seems like a good chance to lock in subs for a year since the digital content costs them almost nothing to design, So really it is just locking us into a 12 month contract for $13 a month up front. Sounds like a solid business model from a for-profit corporation offering entertainment services which are completely optional to the consumer.

The actual value of those things are subjective. They can set the price at whatever. The mounts and pets mean nothing to me. The only things that matter to me are able to be earned in game with effort. Glad mounts and current CE mount is the only thing that I would care about, and its BECAUSE they canā€™t be bought (at least not easily) that they matter to me.

i donā€™t think you know what power creep means.

Also, if you donā€™t want the mounts then you donā€™t gotta buy em. i ainā€™t giving em money for either of em so iā€™m good lol

Well then, letā€™s remove the value:

3 mounts in Retail: Free
1 Mount in Classic: Free
1 pet for each (x2): Free
12 months of subscriptions: $180 in month to month sub pricing

Total value: $180.00
Asking price: $155.88

My way is still cheaper, and smarter, and I got free stuffs.
