Yes and no.
If your comparing xpacs yes and if not well not really.
BFA is enjoyable. It has its problems but so did Legion.
It’s Just popular opinion to hate blizzard right now and anything they do. It’s not out of the norm it happens quite often. Me? I personally think the future of the game is bright with the fixes to come. But yes I have my issues with the current game, they’re my opinions personally. But no it’s not that bad.
Legion was good, MOP was good.
Cata was bad, WoD was bad.

I missed WoD so I’m not exactly sure of the badness scale overall.
I’d say BfA is better than Cata for the most part.
I’ve stopped playing most BFA content. I do my weekly 10, islands thats it.

I think bfa is better than cata wod, and mop.
I’m going for Lore Master. Which is old content.
BFA is a good expansion, it hasn’t even ramped up yet, It is like judging wrath before ulduar came out or judging legion before 7.1.5 or judging WOD only based on it’s release.

Mop and Wod legendary did not require constant grinding. The lore in mop was fairly good even if it was pandas compared to a meaningless faction war where horde AGAIN have someone against the warchief.
No gcd and no pruned abilities in mop either. Bfa and mop are both about the same in terms of music and visuals.

Actually, the Azerite system has more creativity than tier sets, because some classes and their tier sets were bad that players used other pieces to fill the void or stick with 1 set bonus. Azerite has more wiggle room to choose what abilities you think is best out of the amount given, but regardless the Azerite system is no where near completion. Can it be better? Yes it can, but not the road the Devs are taking it. Legendary pieces and tier sets still made it hard to choose what would work well without over lapping set bonuses and Legendary abilities. It may have worked well for a few classes, but it didn’t for some, so most stuck to neck, trinket, boots, wrist, or ring legendary pieces trying to keep set bonuses, while upgraded gear was sold or ignored.
In theory it has more creativity than sets I agree, except they aren’t powerful enough or creative enough to impact the way you play your spec, and with the constant nerfs and buffs, it’s impossible to keep up with what’s good. Just a huge mess.
Yup that is why I wrote the Azerite system is no where near completion. Now if they took away the Head, Shoulders, and Chest and made the Neck piece into a Path of Exile tree system… WOOOOOOOOOOOOW that would’ve been something. Sad how things are running. Some of the abilities do make no sense over others and the fact that you lose certain abilities to gain new ones in upcoming raids are confusing. There are some powerful abilities, but those work on certain specs and there are many useless abilities. The system is there, the execution isn’t.

GCD was my least favorite change to come with bfa for sure, I wish they would revert it completely. I still think the legendary system in legion and artifact weapons were far better than anything in mop/wod. I don’t care for azerite much either.
Yeah the GCD was a… huh… move to be honest. But looking back at the moves they made revolving around class abilities it isn’t as surprising.
Good points. I stick with my on going debate with family. BFA and WOD are backwards. It should of went BFA, then wod and then legion. If look at BFA an WOD both have similar concepts. It looks like they took what was originally going into WOD and repurpose it in BFA. If looking at how MOP ended BFA next make more sense. That would lead up going to WOD. Then ended of it should of lead to legion. I think why it so confusing, resulting it into a bad expansion.
Spend more time doing old stuff in previous xpacs, so ya imo bfa is that bad.

BFA isn’t awful, but it could be way better.
No…its not that bad…its worse.
This expansion makes WoD and Legion look fantastic and they both sucked.
The art is nice to look at.
Thats about it.

How do I tell that BFA is bad. Gosh where do I start

I no longer even look forward to logging on, granted the game launched ONLY 3 months ago. I just log in on Wednesday, pick up my seals, run the Island Expedition (not because I like it, because I just want to get the weekly Azerite power cap), force myself to run boring of M+ for the weekly cache and then logout feeling empty deepdown inside. This is a total contrast of what Legion was where I would absolutely look forward to logging on. I’ll be at work, even thinking about what shoudl I run when I get back home at night. There was multitudes of amazing content back then that you felt so overwhelmed (in a good way).
-
My guild (that is an active Mythic raiding guild) has decided to take a break from raiding until the new raid is out. We’ve lost a lot of core guild members who have decided to leave the game because they are unhappy with the current state of the game.
-
My friends, whom I run content with, have mostly quit (like 80% of them since the start of BFA), so I end up having to pug a lot of content now. I mean its pretty normal-ish if the expac is about to end and a new expac is on the horizon, BUT we’re still literally fresh into BFA and people are ALREADY BURNT OUT.

Nothing is the content is new (apart from the unpopular Warfronts and Island Expeditions). The game’s core system, Azerite gear, is just awful and class pruning has made most classes feel absolutely boring to play. The only thing I really like about this expac is the art. They did a really good job and I feel that all their efforts are being undermined by the overall awful state of the game.
