I am sure there are still people out there that think it is the best thing ever, as frightening as that may be.
It’s an old Dev Q&A referring to Noxxic. I can fine a few comments about it. But, searching youtube only list a twitch steamer reacting and ranting about Blizzard videos.
Yeah I’m using AMR but sheesh maybe I should look into going to Simulationcraft or maybe even Pawn…whats your choice?
I usually just use Pawn personally. I used Simcraft a ton when when I was actually raiding, but now that I am super casual I just get the Pawn addon and throw in some values from the HowToPriest Discord. Honestly, I could probably use Noxxic and it wouldn’t matter, but I can’t stand the idea of doing things wrong even when it doesn’t matter.

I recommend class Discord above all else when wondering where to go. I had AMR it expires next month i think?
When looking for BIS gear, unfortunately they were off the mark for Enhancement. Happy with them for the mage though. But for Enhancement t j will Sim on raid bots and ask in my class Discord.

The only thing for me is, because my gear is crap and not very important, I don’t want to spend a pile of time just to increase dps by 2%. That’s why these addons make it so quick and painless. for instance with AMR I just import my stats into their website and it spits out a full list of what I need to do for my toon. quick and easy.

I totally understand.
Another course of action is to use simc to out your gear into raid bots and then import your personal stst weights. Then input them into pawn.
I redo stst weights every 3 to 5 iLevel increase or so. Pawn tells me I dtsntly if item is an upgrade with current weights at a glance.

Yeah, if it doesn’t matter then it doesn’t matter. For your purposes, I would get the pawn addon, then you don’t even have to go out of the game, it will just have a + or - on new gear to tell you if it is an upgrade or not.

I would argue pawn is worst. It doesn’t take into account things like special effects, so many things like trinkets it can’t gauge properly. Stick with raidbots or amr.
I guess for leveling that’s fine. But as a raider I don’t get enough gear where I need to make an immediate decision on it.
Oh I still Sim. I do not believe pawn even marks trinkets but I could be wrong… I also don’t look at trinkets cuz I just need Azshara Rev up juice trinket and I am good to go haha.
But still solid advice on your part to take j to consideration.
