Is Anyone Else Totally Unbothered by the Prune?

That is already the case for many specs, but quite a few are convoluted.
Also, WoD was a huge mistake.
Let’s hope this does not turn into WoD 2.

They can play classic and private servers though.
Aiming this 20yo game at a new crowd is a shot to the feet.

All that said, the prune can be good if done right, and it’s downright necessary for some specs.
They should even rethink some specs’ very theme/design.

But what I’ve seen so far is very mixed in that regard, some good changes, many bad changes.

We need more development to see it taking shape and decide whether it’s better now or before.

In WoD’s case, the answer was a clear “before”.

I don’t think mages losing 50%+ of their utility and survivability is a net positive, unless the “glass canon” gameplay is back.

With just addon apocalypse or skill prune, we’d lose 5-10%. With both… I’m not confident we’ll reach TLT unless they really nail the new gameplay and base UI, which is not something I think will happen.

Without even seeing it at work, this is how I feel about the new frost mage.
It feels like a downgrade, like Wrath → Cata or MoP → WoD. Again.

And blast wave, barrier heal+uptime, ice block heal, displacement heal… The mage class changes are a disaster for solo play and PvP.

Doubling down on the worst new spell of the class kit since vanilla (Alter Time) only worsens the deal.

^ THIS ^

Imagine being an OG Wrath/Cata Survival hunter and losing your most iconic skill. Again.

Heavily depends on spec here to me, and even which patch.
But overall, I’d stick to TWW, MoP or Legion (DH only).
For some specs/classes, even Wrath or Cata.

Then it becomes a MOBA. Might as well add targeted combat and further segregate regions, as high latency (80+ ms) would make for a miserable experience.
