There is a big faction imbalance between Horde and Alliance. It started back in Pandaria or maybe even before and has been a slow downhill snowball since. Because these current bases have crappy guards in new content Horde take over all the time because there is way more Horde. I cannot say that Horde are better at PvP anymore than Ally. If you look at recent arena ladders Alliance are on top but for WPvP they way outnumber us because Blizz/Activision has not fixed the faction imbalance issue which they could have years ago and still can but they won’t for whatever reason.

We did very well during WoD then blizzard nerfed alliance. Reworked horde to be better for legion and here we are.
Years of Horde having OP racials only being fixed in Legion causing the 1% of people who dedicate way too much time to the game to all transfer horde having a massive following of try-hard players who want to be like them joining them.
Worth noting that not even most Horde players are like this and a good many other understand there is no difference in the type of one who play each faction.
Here is some things that work as CONS for choosing Alliance.
- On my server the ratio is 40(A)/60(H). It’s medium size server. You can say shards help, but It doesn’t. AH is broken by couple of gold makers. Recruiting pool sucks. I bet we do not even have more then 10 progressing statics on Alliance side.
- Story. Horde has a great side quests with Zuljin spirit and Saurfang revolution when you can choose a side. Story about dead King and semi-gods hassles. Epic. What does Alliance have? You can choose a name for a boat that Jaina presents to Anduin. The only great zone is Drustvar. And about 1/3 of quests in Stormsong, that are connected with faceless. Other 2/3 is just Valley of Four winds 2.0.
- War effort. What has Horde achieved in this war? Burned tree (checked). Denied capitol (checked). Been badass (checked). What alliance have done so far? Destroyed Zandalari fleet? Well, yeah, but it doesn’t really do anything. Now we have lost all Kul’Tiran fleet as well (check the cinematic and count all ships that pursued pity 3 zandalari canoe).
- Mounts. All horde can continue the jokes about alliance whining horses, especially when they are getting all that DIFFERENT style of mounts. Can anyone count the amount of the most horses alliance has now?
P.S.
I haven’t mentioned racials that’s why. It’s possible that nerfing horde one can just bring the equality of racial to equilibrium but it doesn’t help to restore faction balance. And it so much fun to shadowmeld when you are tanking 3 mobs, completing a quest and then sudden mage decide that you can make him a favor to tank 10 more.

It’s got nothing to do with size, Horde have always worked as a team, where as Alliance are completely selfish ignorant soloists.
Your racials tend to only be difference-makers at the top or between players of approximately the same skill level.
The best players I have on my btag are alliance arena players. I would have to say no to that.
