…for someone who isn’t great at micromanaging stuff?
I just know it’s very dot heavy and I’m not the best at keeping up with that stuff.
I already have a 70 lock, but of demo and was thinking of making a new one for either destruction or affliction.
So I’m just wondering if affliction would be a good choice or not for someone like me.
If you don’t like micro managing stuff I wouldn’t recommend it, there’s a lot to track as Affliction to make it work properly
That said, just try it. Hit a target dummy, get a feel for it.
I mean, why would you ask this? You answered your own question when you said you know it’s dot-heavy, lol. Affliction is terrible if you don’t like high-APM micromanaging.

What content are you doing?
Maximizing Destro has stuff to track but it’s not as bad as Affliction.
I think as affliction I had 8 weakauras to track on my primary target. 8 dots, buffs and debuffs you’re pretty much manually casting and maintaining throughout combat. Maintaining all that IS the rotation, while managing soul shards preparing to spam rapture. Does this sound like fun to you?

Honestly there is a lot to micro manage “currently”, but next expansion is looking a lot better and they still working on it too.
But in all honesty there’s no better way to see if you like the class better then trying it yourself, hey, you could pick up Affliction insanely quickly, it just may click with you.
I think with every class theirs gonna be some learning curve you will need to tackle, I’m still struggling with Holy Paladin, just soo many cds/keybinds but others find it easy

Aff is pretty much all about micromanaging.
It’s the Spec for those who enjoy keeping all the plates spinning.
Lots of people whining about affliction right now. Heard it wasn’t exactly the bees knees right now. However demo is pretty easy to play and looks pretty fun from what I hear.
If you like DoTs but don’t want to micro-manage them all the time I’d suggest either Assassination Rogue or Boomie.
If you’re wanting Lock I would go Destro 100%.

Aff looks like might be getting better, but for you. You may like spriest or boomie.
My point was, there are 8 things you’re casting and tracking on your target, trying to keep 100% uptime on. How you track them is on you. Are you sure you’re not just arguing to argue at this point?
