What does that have to do with anything?
Yes well it’s the “knowing otherwise” that I am addressing here.
So you ignore and forget about the literally most important property of an ability?

Knowing otherwise comes from experience. Knowing your rotation and your tool kit.
The most important property of an ability is what it actually does, not a ~1 second cd.
Tool tips could do with a major update. I fully understand they don’t want to make them all into a novel buy I think there should be a full version in the spell book and a quick version when mouse over the bars. There are so many that just say things like “has a chance to proc…” It’s pretty vital information what atm we have to grt by testing it ourselves or going to fan sites etc.
Giving us a long form of the tool tip available somewhere would be fantastic.
Blizzard wants you to press buttons less frequently so you ease their servers load.
You have to assume everything is on GCD.
Considering changing talents is free I don’t see how this is a big deal.
Stand at target dummy in SW/Org.
Smack dummy.
Watch all abilities on GCD go grey and count down.

Plenty of addons have been made for less. It’s just about convenience. How is it a big deal to tell us GCD status in the tooltip?

That really doesn’t make a bit of sense…
Is there an addon for putting on my socks in the morning? Remembering how is just as hard as learning my spells.
You’re right. We should also remove cast time and cast range from the tooltip because its easy to remember once you learn the spell.
True, but those numbers are fluid based on haste. GCD isn’t.
Or they should just make the GCD the GCD again and put all abilities on it, so that there is no confusion.
Range is based on haste? I guess we learn something new every day.
Adding this for those still googling how to determine what spell is on the GCD:
It can change too. So if you miss the announcement you might keep using the spell as though it does have a gcd.
I only knew Feint had its gcd removed because a rogue commented on it in the class forum. No where in the patch notes did it use the terms gcd or global. I think it said something like “will recover 1.000 seconds faster” i can’t recall exactly.
I agree with the comment that if you hit one gcd ability, you can see the recovery on all the affected ones but i hide my action bars.
I like to macro off-gcd to other abilities so i wish there was an easier way to know also.
I know I can always look it up, but I’m surprised there doesn’t appear to be a simple addon
You mean basic info that should be in-game is not.
Ok so I read on the forums long ago that spamming your spells can very slightly precede global cooldowns. Whether that’s true or not, I said forget em. I turned off my character’s annoying error voice and just use muscle memory for my keybinds and just click clicky whatever is next. Go wild, be free.
