I wouldnt bother.
Any guild that will clear naxx in a semi timely time frame won’t be taking a DPS priest that isn’t shadow. The only guilds that would take a dps non-shadow priest will not be getting past BWL.

Dps isn’t the issue, it just the mana. Aoe you have to use holy nova. It was only limited by mana, it thought it was cool in vanila. But it was certainly viable dps in pvp grind.
NO mana=no dps. So yeah it is a dps issue.
Not if fight end under 5 min
Then mana isn’t an issue and it’s damage is still a problem.Nobody in their right mind is going to take you.
Go ahead, roll your dps hybrid but be prepared to get laughed at and denied entrance to groups except as a healer.
IIRC the original idea was to have 3 trees for each class with one improving world pve, another defining a role for instanced pve, and the third for pvp. So, in the case of a priest you would level as shadow, heal in raids as holy, and run bg’s as disc. I do not think they fully carried this through or stopped supporting it at a certain point in time, but you can definitely see the original design intent there.
Their burst damage is considerable in pvp , it be fun just roll one for pvp, healing and collect sp gear for pvp like a moonkin. It is not fun to play some exist already in retail wow.
Mn look at hunter originally talent tree, survival has a melee attack at end in original talent tree. So no, no pvp talent tree, then how do you explain Druid ?
Doesn’t matter now , it was 15 years ago. We play a nostalgia version of wow.
How is classics talent tree a TBC tree?
Dude those we not original talent tree. You don’t have thing like lightwell and moonkin in original version. Classic is a “polished” version of vanila
Can a Holy Priest roll on spell power gear (+spell damage & healing) over a caster DPS or is that a ninja?
No man, its vanilla. Just because it’s a later patch of vanilla doesnt make it TBC
3 month before TBC release is not original version I consider vanilla, and latter version sp and +healing roll into a single stats I think.
So naxx isn’t vanilla?
Current patch is after nax isn’t it?
good god… you can not be so ignorant that you think optimization is needed to get through classic raids.
we used to clear BWL missing 5+ people because it was so hard to find raiders back then.
The lack of raiders got worse for naxx and was the limiting factor in getting it cleared before TBC.
So… 200 dps with bursts up to 300 is FAR from burning up the dps meter. If you’re top 3 in UBRS doing that, it’s not because you’re doing good… it’s because your dps is really bad.
A similarly geared mage can sustain 300 to 400 single target, and I’ve broken 2k by the end of AoE pulls. Single target bursts (10-15 sec fights) can also end up in the 600 to 700 range.
A 100 to 200 dps difference may not sound like much, but remember that is half again to double what the OP was claiming to have achieved. It’s about as big as differences gets when you’re talking dps balance.
Healers make for terrible dps.
1.12 released 2 months after naxx, but a lot of these so called tbc talents were redone years before. So your argument still makes no sense.
Still it is not the original version of talent, I am not complaining it make hybrid dps a lot better. It is just not original version that I wanna play, because I never played with original talent tree
Not in classic / vanilla. There was no dedicated pvp spec for any class. That came in later expansions.
