His posts prior to that had nothing to do with preservation, you just came to that assumption because he was logged out as preservation, which he corrected you immediately on. Then you come 1 month later to try and still pretend we’re talking about preservation even though I clearly said “Vers is trash for Augmentation,” which it is, to try and go “well um actually vers is tied with crit”

Hey everyone,

As we get further into the expansion, crafters on average are getting better. However, 447 pieces (for the most part, with the exception of staves) generally require an Illustrious Insight. That’s just how most recipes are designed. Insights, of course, comes from Artisan’s Mettle, which is a finite resource.

Some crafters are able to offer free Insights since they do not do a lot of crafting, and thus are able to sit on stockpiles of Mettle. Others, such as myself, have a high volume of orders and unfortunately don’t have those same Mettle stockpiles.

In my case, I charge 10K gold for a guaranteed 447 if they want me to consume an Insight. Lately, I’ve been getting pushback, and somewhat nasty messages, in-game when I inform buyers of this. These buyers generally say things like “I’m not paying 10k for a recraft,” “Why can [random person] do it for free and not you?,” or “No thanks scammer.” I usually either don’t respond or let them know they can keep shopping around until they find someone who offers Insights for less or no gold.

The hostility used to not be an issue, but it’s becoming one. So my main question is this:

Is it unfair to charge someone 10K gold for an Insight, even if Mettle is an issue, at this stage of the expansion?

If people think your price is unfair, they won’t pay for it. Charge what you think your time, etc. is worth and if your potential customers agree, you’ll sell your goods.

Its fair to me.
I also understand the demand/value for mettle is not the same for every profession (and player).

Some have a easier time crafting R5 without insight.
Some can use 50 mettle to craft Q3 goods for about 10k profit in AH, while others barely get half of it.
