Is 1000w PSU units going to be recommended in the coming future

Not quite related, but I just realized my unit has a toggle button and I don’t even know what it’s set on, LOL.

Guess I should go look

EDIT: it’s on “Silent/Cooling” mode…which means it’s ON all the time. That makes no sense lol

yes which is why you see PSU with hybrid fan modes come with 10-12 year warranties like the on Sal mentions above (I also have the same PSU). Thing is with the added cost of hybrid fan mode you tend to compete with more quality offerings so most brands/oem offer a ball bearing (even double ball) or FDB as opposed to a cheap sleeve bearing fan.

FYI, we have an old oem desktop from 2004 in the office. The thing has run 24/7 for 17 years on the same lite-on PSU (maybe pulls 65-85w in total power) so you never know.

The best GPU money can buy overall right now is the 6900XT liquids (non-RT workloads). Those need a 1000W GPUs already. RDNA3’s major problem is solve is supposedly power consumption.
