Hi guys, I am play hc alliance mage. Currently level 14. I am planning to leveling at Darkshore, since the remaining westfall quests are too dangerous.
I am wondering how to go to Westland and take the boat.
Is it really dangerous to walk from Ironforge to wetland?
Or is it possible to climb the mountains at ironforge and then use ‘slow fall’ flying all the way to wetland?

From the outer edge of the Loch through the tunnel to the bay is called the “death run” for a reason. ideally it’s best to ask for a port to the night elf area. But most Mages wont do this for you on hardcore. You’ll have to get creative and hope many of the path mobs have been cleared by other players. Plus your guild title suggests that you’re a member… why hasn’t your guild offer you support for this?
Thank bro. I saw the YouTube video, skip run from dun morogh to wetland, and most dangerous part of this skip run is crossing the river without being killed by the crocodile or murloc.

Well back in the day while I was a priest, I walked through wetlands and made it 9 times out of 12… so it can be done, you’ll just have to angle your path and hope for the best and don’t have any pets or minions active while on your walk…
I get there by swimming… swimming swimming swimming …takes about 45 minutes to get from westfall up to the docks at Menethil.

You also have Loch Modan quests you could do and Redridge starts around level 16. I never even bother with Darkshore as I find Loch + Westfall to be enough. Once you are level 20 you can safely get to Menethil Harbor.
There are dragonmaw orcs between the zones, and sometimes they’re standing right in the path.
I found the way to Menethil’s harbor to be actually safe when I did it to get my bird for my hunter.
Just get a port to Darnassus, then take the boat to Menethil Harbor.
Pick up the flight points on the way.
You could go through the tunnel to Wetlands (prime time) and ask on local for an escort. Some kindhearted soul might give you a hand.
I like having lowbies along to handle that croc aggro for me.
I always help them if I’m in the area. Especially good when you can aspect of pack them to the finish line! Zoom zoom.

Just watch the Tommy Salami video on youtube and run over the mountain.
Agreed mountain climb is bis - never died doing it though there are a few scary moments (especially the murlock / croc at the end).
The scenery is totally worth it on its own:
- IF airport
- Hidden dwarf village
- Snowy mountain tops
Beats running across wetlands any day 
I have.
That’s why I prefer to do it on lvl 1 characters.

I tend to do it at a pretty low level as well - usually when I need to run to IF (if gnome / dwarf) or need to run to loch modan the first time as a human.
I’ll use that opportunity to do the mountain climb, then I just fly back to IF and continue whatever I was doing.
If I ever would have died, it wouldn’t be too much of a time loss.
