We are almost at the end of beta and they haven’t. That is the point your are missing my friend.

In mythic raiding they bring no value at all.
This has been a problem for years though. It’s not a new problem that just suddenly popped up and they need time to address it. They have had more than enough time to do something.
They have had all of DF to add one more raid buff to shaman. They have already started testing raid bosses to tune them with the current class balance.
I actually strongly disagree with this post. I think Elemental has a competitive tool kit. We have the best interrupt in the game, a purge, the lowest cooldown AoE stun in the game, poison cleaning, a low CD knock-up, substantial burst off healing potential with ancestral awakening, excellent mobility options, an AOE group sprint on a lower cooldown than roar…
Like what the hell? Our toolkit is awesome. We’re disruptive as hell. The problem is damage. If Elemental was doing Spriest or Fire Mage damage we would be meta. Our damage is pitiful, not our toolkit.
We need a better way to spread flame shock.
We need a better AoE spender than janky earthquake which hits for nothing and tanks move mobs out of anyway.
We need better single target sustain than lava surge procs. Elemental Blast needs huge buffs and we could really use a strong single target DPS totem or a massive buff to our elementals.
But no, our tool kit is deep and sufficient for very high level play. We need DAMAGE. I believe our tool kit is better than fire mage, pound for pound, so why are they so much more desirable than we are? It’s obvious.
Im glad to see someone talking about how idk the right words for it but SILLY this part of the interview was.
IT MAKES NO SENSE TO SAY THIS AT ALL FOR DKs OR SHAMANS
DKs had their Raid utility taken away for 0 reason and Shamans of ALL the classes put down buffing totems and we really cant think of a SINGLE thing that would be nice in M+ and raids???
I forgot what the exact value is but if with a decent melee comp it’s comparable to other raid buffs.
Sim data for Windfury is raw damage plus whatever damage gains they get from more autos due to auto interaction a spec might have.
Right, so a bunch of things that either aren’t useful in raids or are brought by other classes that also bring a raid buff and often other utility on top of it.
I think this is the big problem. Shamans get a lot of decent utility skills, but they’re not necessary in high end content outside of a handful of specific scenarios, like Afflicted weeks.
None of those things are unique though… other classes bring all that stuff but with raid buffs or better survivability.
That 400% buff was for Healing TIDE Totem. So, it’s Resto-only; and only because they also buffed the other Healers as well - Divine Hymn, Luminous Barrier, Tranquility, and Revival also got buffed by 400%.
