I’ll take as much Ion as I can get! Nobody UwU me. Okay, a few people can UwU me but only blood elves.
How is this not true? You must have forgot about all the times players screamed how LFR needs to be nerfed, you must have forgot that players were confused and raged aout reforging being complicating, did you also forget players have even screamed about heroic dungeons being too hard?
he isn’t there to coddle you, he’s there to talk about the game. It doesn’t matter who did the interviews, if you don’t like what is being said you’re going to complain about the messenger.
Dude, everyone knew that was going to happen the second 9.1 flopped. Blizzard probably knew the expansion was screwed before it even shipped.
Though they also did this to us in WoD. It wasn’t until they announced Legion that they confirmed what they routinely denied where they abandoned it to work on the new one and hopefully make up for it. Except Legion visibly looked like it had the extra effort to it while WoD got nothing. 10.0 is going to be another WoD/BFA/SL except they’ll clearly abandon SL to “work on 10.0” and 10.0 will release just as barebones as 9.0 and maybe get its first content patch out quicker then go back to the 6 to 7 month patch cycles.
Literally none of these are related. People saying the LFR needs nerfed are just genuinely bad at the game. People complaining about reforging were illiterate when it came to their stats because it added an annoying level of optimization necessary across an entire gearset when you changed out a single piece. This was more a problem that reforging should have only been limited to 3 slots of gear, not every damn piece.
Heroic Dungeons in TBC and very early Cataclysm were actually hard. This wasn’t a “oh just a lot of bad players”, a lot of those dungeons just did not forgive you for anything. That second boss in Grim Batol was a nightmare if one player was slacking. However instead of nerfing them the way they did they should have slightly nerfed them and stuck to it telling players to get through them. Problem is you can’t exactly justify doing that when your heroic dungeons are harder than the raid tier on normal because people believe things like “This is not raiding so it should be easy for me to do” then when it comes to raiding say “This isn’t the highest difficulty so it should be easy for me to do.”
First one is legitimately bad players. Second is way too much crap that overloads most average people. Third is entitled players.
That crossed my mind.
Guessing MS will be able to sue him into bankruptcy if he does anything overly negligent or intentional to damage the game, company or its reputation or income before it all goes thru.
god i hate that. Like a useless politician, lol.
In every case in life.
I cant remember the times things got screwed because someone was giving me filtered information instead of just laying it out.
Ive gotten to the point now in life where I tell people up front from the starting line…If you mislead me…if you dont give me every relevant detail every time, the interaction is over. And i dont give second chances.
I love the nerfs, then the abject joke of an excuse provided.
the ‘de evolution’ crap when they stole the INHERENT water walking from the striders i worked to get on two accounts was really one of the more entertaining/annoying/insulting. lmao
I think his interviews are very accurate when describing wows community at times.
And when it came time to reign in OW Toxic community, Kaplan pushed hard for more strict measures, but was overruled. Blizz didn’t adopt any actual toxicity control measures.
Kaplan started out as an elitist prick. He eventually became thoughtful, and understanding.
Ion never evolved.
They are. People don’t like him because he tells it how it is, he’s a blunt speaker. A perfect example would be when he said “it’s a skill issue”, which it is, many players aren’t nearly as good as they like to think the are. Players are offended when the are told something they don’t want to hear.
I’d rather he do more interviews and there be more communication.
Yeah, I hate Ion’s design direction, but asking for less communication is a bad move IMO.
Ahem. “He” refers back to “Preach” in my post. Not Ion.
That and to me alot of people try and minmax EVERYTHING for content that disent require it, especially since in wow playing better will be a much higher dps gain then gear.
Or, most people don’t care about how “good” they are, they just want enough easily-accessible content with character progress to do regardless of their skill levels.
This isn’t a Dark Souls game, it’s always been the casual MMO… Well, until the Elitist Jerks guy decided to drive the casual players away with your shared mentality.
What isn’t accessible to you?
“when people say things i want to hear, it’s good communication. when they say things i don’t want to hear, it’s bad communication”
A good reward structure and sense of character progression.
Do you have any examples of this?
Also, you made the claim that content wasn’t easily accessible to you, now you’re just saying you don’t like the game design. Not liking a reward structure has nothing to do with your claim that content isn’t accessible to you. So what content isn’t accessible to you?
Considering how many ex-CIA people work at Blizzard and Activision, is it that surprising? Ions law firm used to work with them, even.
Either way the people we’ve had complaints about are all in their same positions, like Ion and Danuser so I don’t see our complaints being taken seriously.
Agreed.
The WoW community are apes and will isolate 1 thing you say and dig up an unconfirmed WoWhead article to contradict your statements even though if you actually google it yourself, Ion is 100% consistent.
For example, the whole player power in ZM thing. The community twisted it into something completely different than what the devs said.
Trying to do interviews or engage in anyway is pointless.
All we really care for is official patch notes and blogs.
To be fair, this is why he “shouldn’t” do them.
They do need someone with a better grasp on the truth. Fans will forgive real world problems and delays, especially when those are a result of good development, but not lying. Sadly Blizzard has been doing too much lying to cover up the lack of good game development.
