It was their lack of attention over the many years that killed the pvp population to begin with.
If they invested effort into it, the population would grow. Give us an actual pvp dev team that works on rated content and communicates with the players.
Toxic, elitist, egotistical players who ruin the game for everyone else.
Doesn’t matter if you aren’t even talking to these people, they find a way to spew their negativity and hate out towards you any chance they get.
Its why population in PvP is low. Nobody wants to deal with people like this. Especially when LFG is the only way to find partners to work towards the only prestige flying mount reward in pvp which is exclusive to 3v3 only.
So you’re basically forced to deal with players like this.
You’ve spent the last 3 months crying, screaming and chucking a tantrum at everybody who gave of their free time to try and help you and you threw it back in their faces multiple times, so don’t come in here and give us grief about our supposed toxicity when you took multiple steaming dumps on our faces when we offered to help you.
Worse people would have charged you real life money for the same assistance, we gave it to you for free.
Hmm okay, yeah they communicated what some of the major problems are, which is good I guess. The focus should 100% be bringing more people in, which is what I’ve been saying for years.
No I’ve queued with him and he’s a very good dude. Doesn’t flame, doesn’t complain and is super positive.
The worst part for me, is using drustvar subtracting out the alts, pvp makes more then enough money to hire a few devs. Ions mismanagement killed pvp, it’s okay though the clock is ticking
I mean he basically said what we’ve all been thinking…PvP gets less attention because it’s a minigame. They would be forced to put more attention into PvP the way they do with housing if there were more newer players, which is why they’ve made several changes (that the vets have hated). Some examples are CC prune, less grinding for gear, simplifying classes. Their logic makes sense.
If we want to see PvP get more attention we need more players, like this is a pretty objective fact.
Pvp has always been a minigame and that’s fine. The population has shrunk massively because they have removed any sort of incentive for pve players to step foot in it.
People used to gear their alts with pvp gear, que early in the season because the trinkets were decent or it gave them an extra shot/easier path to a good ilvl weapon.
The only way to get pvp population to grow at this point in the games life is to get pve players back into it.
Not really. The interview mentioned that there was a time when it was a much bigger chunk and I’ve heard from the guys who’ve been playing since the start that it was like that in woltk. I’m not sure when it started to drop tho.
Right, but with how many roles there are it’s hard to fill games. They touched on the internal math of it and if you think about it, yeah it is hard. You need a lot more to make PvP feel alive with how it’s designed.
I’d like it if conquest gear was on the Hero track at least, if not weapons on the Myth track, currently the best PvP gear in the game is on the Champion track which is equivalent to normal raid gear; that’s pathetic.
