Ion Hazzistokas seems like a really intelligent and nice guy - I watched the Maximum interview on Twitch

That being said…

And this is where you don’t get it… He doesn’t decide everything in the game

He has the final say.

this just in : ION controls everything in the game! and he’s definitely not a messenger from blizzard based on the language he uses!

He just gets the brunt of all the complaints, like the quote above.

Bring back X-Files, damn you.

He really does not seem like a bad guy, not even IRL. I did meet him face to face and he was quite nice, even though it was a very brief chat.

There is only one person who was at Blizz that I had a bad interaction with. The person was arrogant and rude to me. Twice. Two different years. I figured by the second time it was likely just how they were.

The rest of the folks I have met, and that is a lot, have been kind. I don’t agree with all their ideas, approaches, or decisions, but as people, they are rather decent sorts.

I dealt mostly with the Community team (CMs and that sort), as well as quite a few of the Diablo Devs. From the WoW team I met a smaller group of quest designers, systems folks, etc.

Any team making a game, movie, book, TV series for fans of a long running lore base are going to face a tough time. No matter what they do, some people are going to be upset, and LOUDLY so. I still don’t understand why some go so far as to threaten and harass. It is gross.

shut your stupid snout, there are no worse minions that were devoured by the company than one that blindly supports it.

You have to complain about some bad measure such as nerfs for some reason of the fun police Ion, because first the consumer has to triumph over the wishes and whims of the company, and we don’t do it, they devour us with some stupidity.

It’s what happened with BfA and Shadowlands, which although I wouldn’t care, it’s in vain to listen to a conformist who would agree with anything that comes from Blizzard’s garbage.

How much did you get paid to say that? I mean, I could use the extra money as well, let me know.

Why is it so hard to believe that I genuinely like the guy?

You’re being baited by lawyer speak. Everything he says or promises is BS, don’t fall for lawyer speak.

Don’t worry Ion has things well in hand and has a firm grip on the situation…

The swarm of level 10 troll threads being created lately kinda sets a stereotype?

You people paint him like he has committed a Capital Felony and should be treated as a criminal when he is actually a nice guy from where I stand.

Yea my favorite part of the whole interview is how predictable everything is. I knew they’d play pretend and assume Dragonriding is 100% positively well received even though it will never be so long as they keep regular flying out of the game. So reductive if not pathetic really.

I am impressed with fated systems. The items aren’t so jammed up in RNG hell and aren’t so airgapped. Feels like if you put in some time into the content, you get back out some fun loot. SL S1-S3 was really horrible to play because the items were just so constipated, for like 3 or 4 different reasons. So, I’d say keep up the good work. Hope DF play pretty good.
