Think of your raider IO score as a job Resume and you will get invited to keys more. First you have to play the right class which is like getting your degree, then your score is your employment history. If you don’t know, people look at previous season scores as well and if you have a low score or didn’t play that season people will be concerned because it’s like having a gap in your employment history
I also have seen people right click players names in LFG, open their profile on the raider IO website and thoroughly inspect their past runs and logs. This is like the manager deciding who’s he going to hire.
So if you treat your score like your income depends on it, you will be more successful and get into all the keys you want.
I dont intend on using raider IO or whatever it is. It has no relevance to me. If people want to use some random website to judge me based on my gameplay they aren’t someone i need to involve myself with.
To anyone who feels they can do a specific key level but can’t seem to get invites to that key level then focusing on your score as opposed to getting an invite to that key level can be very helpful.
For example:
If you want to do 10s and the 9s you did felt easy. You also have 9,9,9,8,8,7,6,4 for timed keys but can’t get invited to 10s then it might be worth looking to replace your lower score keys with +9s. This greatly improves your chance at getting into 10s.
I’m refusing to invite arcane mages and resto druids for the rest of the season after seeing so many fotm rerollers crap the bed in keys. I’ll take an “off-meta” spec with good history before one of those with 10 total keys 100% of the time.
It ban be toxic ofc but higher keys are extremely hard. Hardest content of the game by a large margin. The key owner wants to complete it. What is the big deal?
It is similar to searching for a job in modern day USA, where you are expected to have extensive experience to apply for an “entry level” job. So unless you have a guild or friends who can run you through some M+ and help you get your score up, don’t bother trying to pug.
