Interrupts should be baseline in dragonflight

All of which are rotational skills, and they stated on the demo examples on the announcement that rotational skills will be baseline.

Which makes me think that 100% that these tree’s are going to be completely different upon release. they did call these mock-up tree’s after all.

again, if you think the entirety of players who raid, do m+ or pvp is a “minority” group, i’d love to see those statistics. and again, it’s a waste of a talent. it’s not about forcing “minmax” on everyone. lord knows theres idiots who have interrupts who never use them anyway. it’s about not intentionally gimping players for the sake of RP

Based on what we’ve seen thus far, interrupts will be available for all classes and specs (even those that currently don’t have access to them) at a position fairly high up in the “class” (not “spec”) talent tree.

Part of the change to the new talent trees is that a bunch of abilities now need to not be baseline.

Based on the design of tazavesh and the recent blue post about them not intending tanks to do huge pulls in mythic+, the design of the dungeons is up in the air. They’ll either go the route of tazavesh with mobs that do insane amounts of damage if not interrupted or they’ll have mass pulling where missing an interrupt isn’t crucial.

Every spec should have an interrupt as baseline, and it should be given at a pre-dungeon level. There’s really no reason not to.

If they go the route of making them all talent based, people are going to intentionally skip it and make everyone’s experience playing with them intolerable.

Not everyone does Mythic+ or PvP. I do neither and I don’t have any use for interrupts whatsoever. I like them being excluded from baseline abilities because I would opt not to buy them, which would give me more points to use on something I actually like.

Anything from this decade? That was a 6 year old article.

Why should Disc and Holy have to give up healing for a interrupt? Does any other healer have to give up healing…no it should just be base line.

Many Boss fights in Raiding don’t require an interrupt so I bet there will be a lot of DPS who choose to save the points and use them for more offense when that’s the case.

And not everyone needs an interrupt in M+ since that’s true right now. It’s going to be up to your M+ team to decide how to handle interrupts in DF which is a good thing. Maybe you choose to have your healer spec into an interrupt because that frees up a DPS to go with different Utility or more damage.

Playing around with the two sample talent trees a little more, they both contained quite a few abilities I would have considered baseline for the class/spec, but because of the layout of trees it felt like I had to really go out of my way to not pick them. So I’m not personally feeling as concerned as I initially was about having to put a point or two aside to get an interrupt.

You asked for statistics and I gave them. Argue with Ion if you think he’s wrong. I’m glad they’re finely un-homogenizing things even if it’s just a a baby step.

I doubt it, but the formula hasn’t changed so I don’t see why it would be wrong besides all the open world players quiting because SL was unfriendly to them.

Why should they get free power? You choose to give up healing or damage since every healer has a dps spec. If anything dps should want this talent so they can force healers and tanks to be the sole interrupt so they can smooth brain their rotation some more.

Same reason a shammy’s get it or a pally.

Hello Mr. Duck,

Thank you for your acuity and insight into this topic. I agree with you on all fronts and anyone who disagrees with you is an absolute mongoloid.

Shammy’s won’t be getting a baseline interrupt in DF though.

Just so they have to spend a point…GG blizzard

The source you provided had no relevance to what I asked for. Again, read what I said.

The specs that don’t already have an interrupt, obviously won’t be speccing into one. The ones that do have one, will just end up being the ones who the group relies on to use them anyway. If you’re pulling a pack of 8 mobs, and 6 of them are casting a death mechanic, your 3 players in group with an interrupt isn’t going to cut it. It will be a mandatory pickup.

Hmm? As I go higher and higher in keys I can’t see a world where a DPS should ever spec out of a kick. The #1 cause of bricked keys in 25+ keys is lack of kicks. In fact, the kick meter, when adjusted for the CD difference in kicks and removing pointless kicks, is pretty much a meter for how good a player is. The lower the kicks, the worse, the higher the kicks, the better, with probably a correlation of like .9. If all the DPS are high on kicks, we’re probably going to time the key.
