With the blue post about layering, a known Lotus hoarder on my server just listed what I’m assuming to be half of their stock on the AH for about twice a reasonable price, as opposed to 5x a reasonable price.

I wonder how many people are going to be…stocking up on Lotus once layering is enabled again.

as someone who bought 25million gold worth of auctions on retail and sold a lot more…never buy the initial listing.

let first 24 hour cycle pass, see what they expire at and what his next play is.

Lotus are still over 200g on Herod. I wouldn’t wait to snatch some up. That hoarder is eventually going to find out that either

  1. his server isn’t going to be layered
  2. no servers are getting layered, or
  3. layering with increased population caps doesn’t actually increase the supply of lotuses enough to warrant trying to tank the market.

I would hope if they bring layering back, they would put some kind of debuff in that keeps you from switching layers again or at least looting nodes for a while to contain exploits to some extent.

Before layering was removed entirely they had implemented a system (although kind of late) that gave you an internal cooldown on joining new layers. AKA, layer hopping was severely limited to be unexploitable.
