At the end of this you’re going to be like “did that guy just save classic WoW??” And no I’m not talking to you I’m talking to the dude behind you.
Okay so I’ve taken a look at the problem we’re facing post Wrath. Honestly it’s a bit of a doozy but this is what you should do…
-Release raids/zones in a similar fashion that you’ve done for tbc/wrath.
-Don’t increase level cap past 80 (maybe even crunch the lvls down to 60)
-New zones should be playable at lvl 10-20ish and scale to the players level
-All Vanilla/TBC/Wrath zones/leveling should remain untouched as is in Wrath (except now players can choose to do the new zones at lvl 10-20ish)
-Modify raids to work with level 80 and of course make the new raids have the better gear
-Do small changes to certain expansions to make them more “classic” like
-Don’t mess with the talent trees this time
-Do the other stuff I haven’t mentioned
You’re welcome. Yeah not sure how Cata plays into this. Maybe just skip it /shrug. Maybe make a little caverns of time “what if” area and make the raids challenge mode type stuff with rewards. Maybe promote the guy that (hopefully) already pitched this whole idea.
Wrath/TBC isn’t Classic WoW. They are retail progression servers. Classic WoW is currently stalled at Lv. 60 cap and Phase 6 Naxx in Classic Era. A novel Phase 7 does hold promise of interesting Classic+ concepts, such as the Timbermaw Hold or Emerald Dream.
Blizz has never gotten the level squish put in without parts of the game being fubar’d.
lmao no scaling is a mess in live/retail
Past experience with modifying raids has shown Blizz not to be ready for primetime.
There are a few things that made SoM raids for example interesting that worked but much of it fell flat. Also: retail bugs are legion.
Small? Perhaps. But RDF was not a small thing to many.
Blizzard: yo dawg we herd u like dragons so we put a dragon in yo dragon so u can dragon while u dragon
Yeah you want Classic + and you have your idea of what it should look like but good luck with any sort of consensus.
This seems to be a common complaint. What if it wasn’t like retail? What if instead… now this is right before the moment you realized just how genius (is that how you spell it? doesn’t look right) I am…
So say at lvl 20/30/40/50/60/ect The new expansion area (for example pandaria) “starts” so each zone is as it was originally in that you have a starting zone (or zones depending on xpac) and you go to the next zone and then the next till you’re 30.
Now here’s the kicker at 30 it “starts” again. This way you have scaling but also isn’t like retail which is very bad. I mean retail is bad not that not being like retail is bad. Not being like retail is good because its not like retail.
I like that idea as it has other game play potential. My original thought was the current zones (Azeroth/Outland/Northrend) would not be scaled but any added zones would. Since players at 80 aren’t lvling beyond 80 the only ones that would be playing the added zones would be alts/new players.
Should we just go make our own servers? We could even add blackjack and hookers. Bo-body. “I like it!”
How about stopping now and let us have the classic WoW experience that was promised. Blizzard is its own worst enemy and certainly is ruining the game for what loyal players they still have left. Just stop with the expansions. Full stop. Undo bad decisions like not allowing higher levels to run lower level dungeons. (Fire the person behind that decision, immediately. They are toxic). Again, let us have that CLASSIC WoW experience for which we are paying and keep your grubby incompetent hands busy continuing to ruin retail.
we were promised a classic WRATH experience and instead are getting tools developed long after lich king that are nothing but hot garbage, and changes made to appease people that want vanilla wow version of lich king.
Wrath of the Lich King was NEVER a vanilla wow experience, OR a TBC experience. it was an across the board IMPROVEMENT. hence, it had the most popularity and the most subs. what the devs are doing to the game will prevent some returning players from returning and it will drive others back to vanilla and tbc. some folks will just quit.
we have lost 10 people already who were playing TBCC and counting on the classic wrath improvements. since seeing the mechanics offered already and the announcements of more changes to come, theyve just outright quit the game and refuse to resub. they are off playing other games that have brought the mechanics they like to the games.
I feel you but idk. Path of least resistance yada yada and boosting was less crazy than it is now. I wish they would have made it so you could boost your friends though.
