Installing WOW on 2nd SSD drive on new computer

On my new Win 11 computer, I want to install Retail WOW and its related files on my second 2TB NVME drive that’s labeled as D:

The downloader on Battle.net wants to install on:

c:\Program Files (86x)\World of Warctaft

Can I simply create a World of WarCraft folder on the D: drive and direct Battle.net to install it there, or am I missing any steps?

You can install it wherever (as long as it’s an internal drive), but it will perform best on C.

Can you please explain what you mean by saying that WOW will perform best on the C: drive?

I have 2 fresh and fast Samsung 990 Pro NVMe SSDs.

• All of my research recommends the OS and often-accessed programs on C:, and your game library on D:

I seek knowledge, so if I’m missing something, please let me know.

When you go to instal make sure you tell the sytem where you want to instal to, in the wow desktop app go to downloads section and browse to the folder you wish to instal wow to. Hope that helps.
