As the title states, I just got a new hard drive and am starting EVERYTHING from scratch including other games. For some reason WoW sounds awful, metallicy or maybe even far away, like Im playing on a GameBoy or a phone. Its hard to explain but its NOT right.
I have checked all in game settings.
I have checked updated drivers.
I have compared how sound is on other games - all games including Skyrim, Stellaris, Tomb Raider, ect sound great.
I have checked music and youtube, everything sounds fine.
I am on a Razer Kraken headset - but again I dont see how it could be that if literally everything else sounds perfect and good quality. But… Im open to suggestions.
I really am at a loss here. Any ideas? Id appreciate any help.
Are you sure the ONLY thing you did was install this on a new drive?
Have you tried installing this back on the old drive and running it from there? (Doubt that’s the issue, but as a means of elimination…)
In reinstalling, you’ve probably reset the sound somehow without realizing it.
One other thing to try: Uninstall your headset completely and reinstall that. That might kick start something.
Actually this is the old hard drive, I just wiped everything - its a long story.
So its basically brand new, it was formatted.
Not sure if that makes a difference but for shortening my explanation I kept things simple.
I just installed the Razer software last night and it made a difference in my music but didnt effect WoW at all.

if you pay attention when you enter on citys like Dalaran from Legion. Your HD gonna be killed. wow suck now on optimization. gg blizzard.
