So, Why don’t add bad luck protection? Example, 100k timewarped badges its a big goal but every attempt matters, the problem with pure RNG is that is designed in a way that make some goals for players totally impossible of their time playing this game. You’re always saying that hate mount andies…etc but don’t consider the bad design of pure RNG in a game, not even gachas do this kind of approach, there’s usually a bad luck in place.
For example, this probably won’t happend for a player doing 1 character for some of these grinds without changes, I did 750+ attempts of love rocket in the last event that’s 50 years of attempts for a player with 1 character, the game needs a balance for the RNG considering players with 1 character as the minimum. that’s why bad luck protection systems like a vendor or increase % per attempt like implemented for legion legendaries should be in place, it’s not give me the reward in the mail or the next attempt but give me a deterministic path…a GOAL.
My boyfriend barely plays this game. He tagged along with me for some runs and got it in under 15 kills. Doesn’t think it’s a big deal when I tell him people farm years for it
I almost never do TW, I didn’t know it (the mount) was a thing, and the game gave it to me. You can have mine because mount farming is timewasting, just like everything else we do in this game.
Maybe it’s because I don’t care that much for mounts, but I’d rather farm this than a binding from MC. At least you have unlimited chances daily to get the mount.
I understand the frustration, but be happy that it’s not something you can only attempt a few times a week. There is always hope on that next dungeon boss, rather than, there is hope next week.
Stay positive!
I totally agree with you. Don’t hold your breath on any response from a blue though. I asked for a year after the first cryptic post about the love rocket and then daily after they made the second blue post on the “buff”. I was ignored on every single post where I asked.
Gonna be honest. I have one. And at the time I think I ran at most 7 dungeons. It was a cataclysm dungeon. I remember it dropping and being like sweet I got a sick dragon mount. Now after seeing all these posts realized I got super lucky lolol
Just came here to say that. I was running timewalker dungeons on one of my alts last week, and Reigns of the Infinite Timereaver just popped up in my inventory… didn’t even know about it until i googled it after lmao
One of these dropped in a Skyreach for someone last week.
But the idea of people expecting rare things to be made easier to get just because they’ve personally spent a lot of time farming them has always seemed strange to me… Like, the rarity is the point. There’s no guarantee you’ll get it.
I don’t really know how to talk about this without coming off as really insulting to these Andies but… these people use 0th order thinking. “I want the thing, therefore I want the thing”. They don’t think about what will happen if something changes to let them get it.
We’ve seen again and again and again, as soon as something becomes too easy to get… their entire desire for it is gone. I doubt you will find a single person talking about the Fel Drake for instance. Once Blizzard inevitably does the Spectral Tiger mount from some sort of cross-promotion with Twitch or Amazon, decades of hype around the mount will disappear and we’ll probably never mention the mount ever again. This has already played out in the China region.
See, your problem, OP, is that your approach is all wrong. When it comes to things like this where the drop rares is hilariously that low, you need to accept the fact that any attempt to farm for it specifically is a pointless endeavor.
You must adjust your thinking. Rather than farm for it, ignore it. Do whatever time walking you want. And if it drops, great. If not, whatever. I’ve used this approach for any mount drop that is less than 1-2%. I’ve seen about 2 timereavers drop this way. Didn’t get either one, but whatever. There’s always another mount I can more realistically farm for.
It’s the same reason why I didn’t bother properly farming the mop wb mounts until after drop rate buff. By doing it this way, I’ve managed to obtain 3 out of the 4 mounts.
Player participation increases when the rewards can be realistically obtained. When the rewards are gated by unrealistic drop rates, player participation drops. It’s the same reason why no one kills the storm event rare bosses in DF anymore.
