Due to an oversight in our loot table setup, some activities—particularly elite farming, herb gathering, and mining—were unintentionally yielding far more Infinite Power than intended, which led to a small subset of characters accumulating Infinite Power well beyond our intended thresholds.
Elite farming, mining, and herb gathering are valid gameplay choices, however, we’ve made the following adjustments to restore balance to the system and ensure a healthy game economy moving forward:
Infinite Power earned from Elite enemies, mining and herb gathering has been lowered.
Characters with over 10 million Infinite Power have had their Infinite Power reduced to 10 million.
Thanks for your understanding, and as always, we appreciate your continued feedback and support.
abit late imo, with the changes you did with alt unfriendly gearing and how slow leveling is unless you do the quest lines in zone im done. I already did all the zones in legion so not sure why blizzard thought it would be a good idea to force people to relive the questing experience.
“We’ve nerfed people who can one shot everything down to a power level where they still oneshot everything” “But we’ve also made it that if you’re behind them, you’ll always be behind them by reducing how much power you poor people can obtain”
So even though they said that the people who did it did so by “legitimate” means and use of in game mechanics you’re happy that they got nerfed and their time was wasted? Seems like a selfish thought imo. I’m not one of them but I don’t care that they farmed more than I did and got gains from it…
By day 2 there were already people selling +30 rushes the system was clearly broken ages ago. 10 million power just feels like a reward for whoever exploited it first. Also, Infinite Knowledge seems bugged it stops giving any bonuses after around level 19–25, at least I haven’t noticed any increase past that.
Why not just make the rewards from regular content better for players who want to play normally instead of grinding in some hyper spawn?
Didn’t really accomplish much in MoP Remix. Won’t really do anything now. A lot of players are pretty high up there legitimately so bosses will continue to melt in record time.
That’s’ the problem though. They didn’t earn it. You could do it for a few hours and absolutely eclipse someone no lifing legitimate questing, raiding, dungeons etc and doing everything they could to power up as fast as possible without the exploit. It’s disrespectful to everyone elses time that they could do 10 times beyond what was possible through the most hardcore legitimate means in a 10th of the time and then act like they are the coolest kids on the block because they cheesed a system that everyone else was playing by the rules of that blizzard had set. I think 10 million was too generous even. I think 7-8 million would have really been the ticket. I have literally 111 hours in remix with max current knowledge available at 27 and have been spamming world quests everyday and everything imaginable and I am at 7.3 million. Still 2.7 million behind people that exploited. It’s better but they still got rewarded in the end.
This “nerf” is similar to how the frog farmers in MoP got hit. On its face, it might sound like a lot but that’s still a LOT of damage, healing and vers. It really doesn’t do much for balance. We’ll still be destroying Legion dungeons and raids. This was just them saying “look, we did something!”.
Yep. 100% Frog Farmer repeat. I knew it was going to happen. Someone ALWAYS goes way out of their way to find some type of exploit. Guess we should thank them for finding those exploits, as things like that left unchecked kills a game and morale. Glad the team decided on at least a slap on the wrist for the perpetrators.
Remember people, this is just a ‘for fun’ game mode. For 3 months at that. Just get carried for the armour tints and title then stockpile bronze for whatever you had your eye on. At the end of the day this isn’t going to impact retail power progression so it’s kinda whatever.
They literally just said it wasn’t an exploit. They were simply running around and killing elites that were spawning at a normal rate. It wasn’t a hyper spawn and no exploit was used. All they did was run in circles killing spawns that spawned on a normal timer. Don’t call legitimate use of game mechanics an exploit. These people simply chose to farm mob kills instead of doing dungeons/raids/questing like other people were doing. Nothing more, nothing less.
How about you let us farm to 10 million and then decrease the loot from these “exploits”. Jesus I hate that I have a real job and don’t get to pharm L33Tz.
So people are being punished for your mistake. Why does it even matter? This is a for fun mode. I didn’t even get to the level of some of my friends so I am not getting rolled back, but I don’t want my friends to be punished for doing something I didn’t want to do. I can already solo Mythic raids and +40s and I’m only at like 6mil infinite power. This is just a pointless punishment.
