My bank alt managed to RP-die-rez-repeat his way out of the city earlier. It was actually amusing, the sad level 5 orc trying to crawl out of the gates of Orgrimmar while getting pelted by zombies.

It might be now that I can’t see the crates or zombies on my bank alt, but an hour ago everyone in SW and Org was phased in.

Let me translate OP: No one else can have fun unless it’s the kind of fun I want to have.

Something happening in the lore of the world is going to kill the RP in the world?

I’m not sure if you’re aware, but there’s a Scourge invasion happening. Your RP should react to the events of the world, not the other way around.

I’m on MG and rp a lot and even I’m here thinking. “Jesse it’s for one week grow a damn pair.”

I’d hate to DM a game for these types of rpers. The game is essentially static for 99% of the expansion and they add in something dynamic WITH plenty of notice that something will happen. People complain that they can’t continue on as usual rather than encompassing the excitement and absorbing it into their story.

2 types of people: “Make the world alive, give us something to play off of” and “OMG this is MY story, stop messing it up!”

Its for a week i think you’ll live.

You’re looking at it wrong. Rp the event, Rp that the scourge is spreading the plague again. Rp is not ruined you are just not embracing a limited Rp chance.

You are a reason why participation trophies exist…you can RP elsewhere. It is a limited event.

It’s only a week. I’m a roleplayer and I just had an event regarding the invasion, it was pretty fun tbh

You. I like you. At least you know it’s only temporary.

you roleplay exactly what? If you’re part of the world then you should react to what happens in that world

This should help your RP OP.
That’s literally all this event is good for…

Unless your RP consists of some random cybering in Goldshire. Then, well, find a new hobby for a week.

I wish it was longer. Events like this are very fun to my roleplaying group, they allow the world to change and it’s easier for the DMs to craft an event

As an RPer myself, git gud.

It’s for a week. Deal with it and let people have their fun.

I’m sorry, but if you think a scourge invasion DISRUPTS roleplaying (rather than providing a huge opportunity to engage in additional roleplaying)…

… then you have no idea what RP is.

Literally this. I’ve RP’d my character as having the Plague recently, unknowingly spreading it after he died icly. Timed it with the zombie invasion and mentioned dozens of others had been infected as well.

RP has been building up the zombies for days now as well. From hardly anyone noticing, to full on panic yesterday before the invasion started, people have been RPing as abominations and San’layn and other scourge bosses attacking the Cathedral district and its the most fun I’ve had with open world RP in a VERY long time. It’s a great change from the “slice of life” it’s become as of late.

I cannot WAIT to log in and get on the zombie fighting/infecting train when I get home. I’m so glad they decided to allow this to happen.

Compared to other environmental disruptions, the hallows end stink bombs, that summer fire buff thing, the Twilight attack in the Wyvern’s Tail from the Hordeside Twilight Highlands intro chain, the ghoul spawns are the least obtrusive in my personal experience. They’re like a dead fly where the others are mosquitoes in July.

Not to mention…

and it was nerfed from its original form. Far worse things effect rp in game than a small part of a one time event; ffs.

Addendum:

I can agree with this part of the event being opt-in, if only to avoid the moaning that inevitably came.

So much complaining these days
